In a bizarre turn of events, sales of the newly re-released mixtape by 33-year-old rapper Travis Scott Days Before Rodeo, have dropped by about 98% in its second week on sale. While some of us might think this clearly means the week 1 numbers were either fabricated or illegitimate, that might not be the case.

The Buildup
Travis Scott's Utopia debuted at number one on Billboard Top 200 and he expected the same with his mixtape. However, the re-released Days Before Rodeo dropped back onto the scene with some serious heat, but still couldn’t knock Sabrina Carpenter off the top of the Billboard 200. Carpenter’s Short n' Sweet edged out Scott's project by just a few hundred copies, securing the No. 1 spot, while Scott landed at No. 2 with an impressive 361,000 units sold.
Travis and his label, Cactus Jack, didn't take that lying down, going as far as to write a letter to Billboard and Luminate disputing Sabrina’s win, among other accusations.
The Drop-off
But here’s where things get wild—week two saw Days Before Rodeo take a nosedive, with sales plummeting a jaw-dropping 98%. That’s one of the biggest drops in recent Billboard history, though it still managed to hang onto a spot in the top 10 for the week. From a No. 2 debut to falling all the way to No. 30, Scott’s album stayed in the conversation, even with that massive drop-off.
