Blake Lively Faces Defamation Lawsuit From Crisis PR Firm Amid 'It Ends With Us' Controversy

Jed Wallace, who runs a crisis mitigation company, has sued Blake Lively for defamation. He filed the lawsuit on Tuesday in federal court in Texas. Wallace was accused in Lively's lawsuit of being part of an online campaign led by Justin Baldoni to harm her reputation. Lively claimed this campaign was in response to her complaints about sexual harassment while working on the set of "It Ends With Us."

The Allegations Behind the Lawsuit

In his lawsuit, Wallace says he had “nothing to do with” the alleged retaliatory effort against Lively. He claims he has lost millions of dollars in reputation because he was named in the complaint. In her December 2024 complaint, Lively accused Wallace of running a digital campaign to hurt her reputation while they worked on It Ends With Us. Wallace is countersuing, saying Lively’s claims are baseless and have damaged his reputation. He is seeking $6 million in damages.

Lively's Legal Team Responds

In response to Wallace’s lawsuit, Lively’s legal team argued that it is part of a retaliatory campaign against her. They said, “Another day, another state, and another large lawsuit aiming to silence Ms. Lively for speaking out against sexual harassment and retaliation. This is not just a publicity stunt. It is clear retaliation following the allegations in the sexual harassment and retaliation complaint that Ms. Lively filed with the California Civil Rights Department. While we believe this lawsuit will be dismissed, we are glad Mr. Wallace has finally come forward, and that he too will face consequences in federal court.”

The Origins of the Legal Battle with Baldoni

This legal conflict started when Lively accused her co-star Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation while they were filming *It Ends With Us*. Baldoni denied these claims and filed his lawsuit against Lively for defamation and extortion. He is seeking $400 million in damages.
