Rapper and fashion designer Kanye West, who now goes by Ye, has once again ignited controversy by posting an image of a Ku Klux Klan robe on social media. The post came shortly after he revealed plans to bring back his Sunday Service, the gospel-focused musical gatherings he began in 2019.

The image, shared on Ye’s Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), was accompanied by the caption “Outfit of the Day.” The post was met with immediate backlash, with many accusing Ye of racism, insensitivity, and provocation. Some saw it as an attempt to stir controversy, while others were left questioning his intentions.

The Return of Sunday Service

Before posting the controversial image, Ye had announced the revival of Sunday Service, a musical worship event blending gospel with hip-hop. The services initially gained a dedicated following, featuring choir performances and appearances from celebrities like Justin Bieber and Marilyn Manson.

Sunday Service was seen as a spiritual project for Ye, but its return is now overshadowed by his latest controversy. Many are questioning whether the KKK robe post was a misguided attempt at artistic expression, a publicity stunt, or something more troubling.

Public and Celebrity Reactions

The response to Ye’s post has been overwhelmingly negative. Social media users, activists, and public figures have condemned the image, calling it offensive and inappropriate.

Political and civil rights groups, including the NAACP, have spoken out, condemning the post as dangerous and irresponsible. Several celebrities have also reacted, with some distancing themselves from Ye entirely.

On X, journalist and activist Shaun King called Ye’s actions “reckless and disturbing,” while actress Jameela Jamil criticized him for “deliberately provoking hate.” Others questioned whether Ye was seeking attention in the wake of declining public support and business opportunities.

Ye’s History of Controversy

This is not the first time Kanye West has stirred outrage. Over the past few months, he has made headlines for a series of disturbing actions.

He has made several antisemitic comments, including saying, “I love Hitler.” In February, Ye made antisemitic remarks and praised Hitler, but later took back his words, saying he wasn’t a Nazi.

During the Super Bowl, Ye ran an ad for his website, Yeezy.com. At first, it showed regular clothing, but within an hour, all items were replaced with a single white T-shirt featuring a swastika and the label “HH - 01,” which many believe stands for “Heil Hitler.” This caused immediate backlash.

Ye’s Silence and Speculation

So far, Ye has not addressed the backlash or clarified the meaning behind the post. Some speculate that he may attempt to explain it as a statement on racism or power structures, similar to how he justified past controversial actions. However, without clarification, many are left to interpret the post at face value.

With the controversy still unfolding, it remains unclear what impact this will have on Ye’s career, Sunday Service, or his relationship with brands and fans. Some believe this could further alienate him from mainstream culture, while others argue that he thrives on controversy and will continue to push boundaries.

For now, Ye remains silent, leaving the world to debate the meaning and consequences of his latest move.
