Trial Date Confirmed For A$AP Rocky; Judge Inquires About Rihanna Union

Rapper A$AP Rocky ( Rakim Mayers ) is scheduled to stand trial in Los Angeles on January 21, 2025, on charges that he shot a semi-automatic handgun at his former buddy and partner Terell Ephron (also known as A$AP Relli) in November 2021. Mayers has pleaded not guilty to two felony charges of assault with a semi-automatic rifle. If convicted, he could face up to 24 years in prison.

During a pre-trial hearing, Superior Court Judge M.L. Villar confirmed that jury selection will begin on January 21, 2025. Joe Tacopina, Mayers' attorney, expressed confidence in his client's case, saying: "He will be vindicated." The trial was previously postponed to allow Mayers to fulfill performance obligations, which included a benefit concert in Bangkok.
