Kevin Durant Claps Back At Fans Arguing Over Drake & J. Cole

Kevin Durant has had enough of rap fans debating which artists reign supreme. Over the weekend, the Phoenix Suns star shared his thoughts on J. Cole’s latest song "Clouds”, calling it “mastery” in a now-deleted post on X. 

However, fans quickly jumped in, questioning his loyalty to Drake and accusing him of throwing shade at Kendrick Lamar.

Shutting Down the Haters

One fan claimed Durant needed Drake’s approval to support Cole while subtly taking shots at Kendrick Lamar. KD didn’t hold back:

“I’m throwing shade at fans like you, been hatin’ on Cole this whole time. Just listen to the music and stfu.”

Another fan dismissed both Drake and Cole’s music as “fake tough guy” rap. Durant strongly disagreed:

Some also interpreted Durant’s original “fake tough guy sh–” comment as a direct response to Lamar’s recent jabs at Drake. He quickly shut down that speculation, clarifying:
I’m dissing all yall fans who can’t listen to Jcole without saying hes “soft”

 When one user tried to argue that Cole’s new song wouldn’t get much replay, Durant kept his response simple:

“Gets playback in my AirPods, that’s all that matters to me.”

Durant’s Connection to Drake

Durant has faced criticism for supporting J. Cole due to his close friendship with Drake. He was credited as an A&R on "For All the Dogs" in 2023 and recently made headlines for saying Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show “meant nothing” to him.

Despite the fan debates, KD made one thing clear, he’s here to enjoy the music, not engage in pointless arguments.
