Jamie Foxx Opens Up About 2023 Stroke And Recovery In Netflix Special

In his upcoming Netflix special, Jamie Foxx  What Had Happened Was, the 56-year-old actor and comedian claims that he experienced a brain hemorrhage that resulted in a stroke in April 2023. This medical emergency kept him in a coma for 20 days, causing substantial memory loss and physical debilitation.

A Life-Threatening Ordeal

Foxx suffered a nasty headache while filming Back in Action with Cameron Diaz in Atlanta, causing him to be admitted to the hospital. He underwent emergency surgery at Piedmont Hospital, which resulted in a protracted coma. When Foxx regained consciousness, he found himself in a wheelchair, unable to walk and with no recall of the previous events.

Recovery and Rehabilitation

Following his hospitalization, Jamie Foxx began an arduous rehabilitation program in Chicago to restore his motor skills and physical strength. He praises his family, especially his daughter Corinne, for their constant support throughout this difficult time.
