George Clooney has shifted his focus when it comes to selecting film projects. This is evident in his GQ cover story with Brad Pitt where Clooney revealed that he now cherishes time and positive working conditions more than resting in the fame of such projects. It seems that after working for so many years, he cannot afford to undertake strenuous shooting or engage in unnecessary contentious scenes for the sake of a good movie.
Reflections on past conflicts
Clooney’s style, to some extent, was influenced by his previous work and adverse situations, one of which was during the shooting of the film Three Kings. The picture, directed by David O. Russell, was known to have a problematic shooting process. Russell was notorious for his rude behavior, and Clooney was not shy about discussing how the experience had impacted him. It escalated to the point of an on-set disagreement, yet George Clooney perceives the incident as a valuable experience that he does not want to repeat, which appears to reflect his current selection process for films.
Addressing Quentin Tarantino's remarks
Clooney also felt the need to respond to recent statements by Quentin Tarantino, with whom Clooney starred in From Dusk Till Dawn. There have been words exchanged between the two of them before, and Tarantino expressed his doubt about Clooney as a movie star, which Clooney doesn't take lightly. In response, Clooney pointed out his successful career and achievements established in cinema, adding that years of work prove the opposite irrespective of the comments.
What’s next for Clooney?
Apart from sharing their experience, Clooney and Pitt also addressed the new film Wolfs, in which the Oscar-winning actor plays a professional fixer along with Pitt. In addition, Clooney has been very busy in his 40th year of acting, having just finished work on Noah Baumbach's next movie. As he continues to explore diverse roles, Clooney remains surprised by his sustained success.
