Exploring Tom Cruise’s Jaw-Dropping Car Collection That Are Fit For The Maverick

Tom Cruise’s expensive car collection is a result of his immense $600 million net worth which he has amassed throughout his career from his acting career and business ventures. And he’s not afraid to splurge that wealth from his treasure trove on the lovely beauties in his garage.

8. 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle

The retro 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is one of Tom's sweethearts, and it also was one of his earliest automotive acquisitions. Tom's Chevelle SS was one of 9 Chevelles that the Jack Reacher (2012) movie production house bought but only three remained after the film was finished. 

Rather than just keeping the dashing red Chevelle in his garage, Tom went ahead to feature it in his 2012 action movie Jack Reacher, where the car was reportedly used to its limits.

7. 1958 Chevrolet Corvette C1

The 1958 Chevrolet Corvette C1 can be considered an exclusive one in Tom's collection, considering the fact it was the first generation of Corvette. Cruise's Corvette C1 first made headlines back in April 2007 during his romantic relationship with Katie Holmes. 

On a Tuesday evening in 2007, Tom and Katie were spotted together outside of a steakhouse in LA where the former Hollywood super-couple spent over two hours before heading back home in his ‘58 Corvette C1. Besides that Cruise’s Corvette C1 was also spotted several times featuring the car’s two-tone glacier blue and White exterior finish while flaunting its silver blue leather upholstery.

6. 1976 Dodge Colt

One of Tom Cruise’s first cars was the 1976 Dodge Colt, which was a rebadged Mitsubishi Gallant that Tom bought during his teenage days in his hometown Syracuse. Tom even arrived at his high school a couple of times riding his second-generation Dodge Colt.

Believe it or not, Tom's Colt was the starter car that helped him launch his acting career as he drove it down from Syracuse to New York City at the age of 18. Tom admitted in an interview that he paid a total of $925 for his Colt.  

5. 2010 Ford Mustang Saleen S281

Tom Cruise's Ford Mustang Saleen is the perfect example of an all-American muscle car in his collection and the story behind it is more interesting. During the premier of Mission: Impossible III (2006), Tom wanted a Mustang Saleen for his premier run in Manhattan. Thus, Cruise's management team called the then-owner of Creative Film Cars - John Ficarra to arrange a Burnt Orange Saleen to which John obliged instantly. 

John called several mailing companies and finally UPS took up the challenge of overnight mailing (Overnight Mailing cost was $13,000) Tom's Saleen Mustang from Los Angeles to New York via a cargo plane. Tom's Saleen arrived at the NY airport a few minutes after 6:00 a.m. and John delivered the car outside of the first premier hall where Tom drove it for the very first time.  

4. 1996 Porsche 911 (993)

Tom is a big-time Porsche lover, and there's no way of hiding it. Over the years he has bought several Porsche 911s and sold many but the 1996 Porsche 911 (993) was one of his favorites. During the premier season of the film - Top Gun (1986), Tom decided to buy a blacked-out '86 911 Carrera Targa but sold it after only using it for 10 months. 

After selling the car, a guy in Illinois used it for around 9 years before putting it up for sale again in 2021. The car is up for grabs and has a total of 8,800 miles clocked in. The current market value of the same pristine model is around $60K but considering a 10-month ownership history of Tom Cruise could make a difference here. 

3. 2000 Ford Excursion 

The 2000 Ford Excursion owned by Tom Cruise is not the fastest or the rarest car but it is used as a decoy. The large boxy SUV was used by his ex-wife Katie Holmes who was then pregnant.

Tom's Ford Excursion was modified and nearly two thousand man-hours went into electrical work, installing ballistic-proof roof panels, special TC begin,g, and premium veneer inside the cabin.

Tom Cruise’s Ford Excursion has also been a part of HBO’s Going Clear documentary which showcased that Cruise underpaid Church of Scientology followers to trick out his exotic and exclusive vehicles. The ballistic tank-like SUV was used by Tom Cruise several times to stay away from paparazzi lenses and it surely served him well. 

2. Mercedes-Benz S-Class

One of Cruise's luxury commutes that he uses is his M-Benz S-Class and as a matter of fact, he does not drive it personally as an appointed chauffeur is always there to drive Tom in his S-Class. Back in the day, Tom was spotted multiple times with his ex-wife Katie arriving at the airport before taking off in Tom's private jet. 

Recently, in April 2024, Trafalgar Square in London, UK, was flooded with fans as Cruise finished rehearsing a few scenes for his upcoming film Mission: Impossible 8 - Dead Reckoning Part 2 (2025). People were seen waving and chasing Tom's Mercedes-Benz S-Class on the road before he proceeded to the London Heathrow airport.

The Bugatti Veyron is the most expensive and also the most talked about car in his collection. Back in 2005, Tom decided to buy a $1.9 million Bugatti and show his appreciation for the brand's top-of-the-line manufacturing which eventually led him to be i Bugatti's ban list.

Tom showed up at the Mission: Impossible 3 premier red carpet event in Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, L.A driving the Veyron. The actor went on to open the passenger side door to make way for his ex-wife Katie and the unexpected happened. For nearly 40 seconds, Tom struggled to open the door which led Bugatti to ban him from owning the brand's car ever again as they believed it was a poor representation of their craftsmanship and value as a luxury brand.
