Arnold Schwarzenegger's Car Collection Is A Fleet Of Turbocharged Terminators

Arnold Schwarzenegger's life story reads like an epic tale of his path from the bodybuilding beaches of Austria to the glamorous sets of Hollywood. Despite having the means to indulge in any luxury, Arnold's garage is surprisingly modest for someone of his stature, valued at just over $4 million. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s car collection is big, bold, and usually American. Although he has a soft spot for Hummers, he doesn’t shy away from picking fast German cars either. His collection is a mix of classic and contemporary cars and he drives most of his cars himself while smoking a cigar.

14. Audi R8 e-Tron Concept

As a former Governor of California, Schwarzenegger has been a prominent advocate for green technologies and sustainable transportation solutions. His fascination with the Audi R8 e-tron Concept, a vehicle celebrated for its exceptional handling and made famous by Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal of Iron Man, led him to acquire a custom model for himself. 

The 2009 LA Auto Show was the revelation of the R8 e-Tron Concept and like many enthusiasts, then-governor Arnold Schwarzenegger paid a special visit to Audi's booth and reviewed the car firsthand. Audi's global sales and marketing in charge Peter Schwarzenbauer said, “…It was a great pleasure meeting with Governor Schwarzenegger and I’m thrilled that he shares our excitement about the e-tron…”

13. First-Generation Tesla Roadster

As Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger championed the state's electric vehicle (EV) movement, notably endorsing the first-generation Tesla Roadster. The vehicle proved a snug fit for the formidable physique of the former bodybuilder, which might explain why he's rarely seen driving it. Nevertheless, this green Roadster remains a prized possession in his collection, valued at over $400,000.

Schwarzenegger's support for EVs extended beyond personal acquisition, he actively promoted their adoption. At the 100th annual L.A. Auto Show, he emphasized the critical role of alternative fuel vehicles in curbing greenhouse gas emissions both within California and globally. "Every industry must engage in the battle against global warming," he declared. Having said all of it, Arnold tried to return his Tesla back in 2009 but no supporting evidence has come out if he actually returned it.  

Reflecting on his experience with the Roadster, Schwarzenegger shared, "I test-drove this vehicle, and it is hot".

12. Custom Kreisel Electric G500

In collaboration with Austrian electrical specialist Kreisel Electric, Arnold ventured into custom vehicle territory with an electric Mercedes G-Class. Boasting a promising “realistic driving range”, this project aligned with his renewable energy goals. Reportedly, the Austrian actor worked with KREISEL Electric and invested around $1 million to turn his Electric G500 into reality. 

In a press release unveiling the electric Mercedes G, Schwarzenegger shared his enthusiasm: “…To me, with the electric version of this fantastic car, a dream has become true. The initial test drive was a real pleasure: The Kreisel is incredibly sporty and perfectly leverages the advantages of e-mobility. I am eagerly anticipating further test drives and the ongoing development in California….”

Schwarzenegger also showcased this electric G-Wagon to car enthusiast Jay Leno, featuring it in one of Leno's YouTube videos.

11. 1982 Excalibur Phaeton

Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1982 Excalibur Phaeton Series IV is a particularly unique vehicle in his extensive car collection. This car was produced by neoclassical car builder Excalibur, a company founded by designer Brooks Stevens in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Stevens began using Studebaker chassis to create vehicles resembling 1920s-era Mercedes-Benz models, particularly the SSK.

Schwarzenegger's purchase of the 1982 Excalibur Phaeton Series IV is notable because it was part of a model run celebrating the company’s 50th anniversary. Only 38 Phaeton examples were produced between 1981 & 1984, and Arnold’s Phaeton is a classic convertible finished in off-white befitting the former Mr. Olympian perfectly. 

10. 2009 Bentley Arnage

Arnold Schwarzenegger has a particular fondness for the British luxury carmaker, Bentley, and thus owns several Bentley cars including the Bentley Arnage. Arnold has been rarely spotted driving his black Bentley Arnage.

Arnold bought the Arnage in his early days when his fame was just beginning to hit the industry. This is why the Arnage is his least-seen car and people have even marked the car as “Arnold Schwarzenegger's unknown car”. 

9. 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8

When Dodge revived the Challenger muscle car, Schwarzenegger was among the first to acquire the Dodge Challenger SRT8. His 2008 Challenger SRT8 finished in orange color with contrasting black racing stripes screams the challenger dream of every Muscle Car American. 

Arnold has been spotted with his Dodge Challenger SRT8 on several occasions. One notable instance was when he was seen shopping at Maxfield in Beverly Hills and was seen leaving in his Challenger after having lunch with his son at Babalu back in June 2009.

8. 2009 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet

Arnold Schwarzenegger's Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet, donned a silver body with red interiors, is one of the more prized possessions in his vast car collection. This particular vehicle is part of his preference for convertibles, which he's often seen driving when not in one of his many Hummer trucks. 

Arnold's popularity went haywire just after the election results for his gubernatorial run were made public. People weren't happy with his political involvement. Once during his political run, Arnold was seen driving his Porsche with his oldest run back in 2009 and people took shots at him stating “…Look at yourself, Arnie: you're an Austrian driving a convertible Porsche in California, while sporting a terrible dye job/facelift combo pack. You think living that many stereotypes is going to solve your constituents' problems?…” 

7. 2015 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse

Owning a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse becomes a mere detail when one's net worth surpasses $1 Billion. Arnold's Veyron, decked out in silver, boasts an estimated value of $1,900,000. Arnold was spotted frequently enjoying drives in his Vitesse although, in an interview with TopGear back in October 2019, the former governor admitted his Bugatti being a ‘headache’.

After owning the car for nearly a decade, in 2023, Arnold chose to sell this prized possession to Nigerian businessman Obi Okeke for nearly $2.5 million. For those who don't know Obi Okeke aka Doctor Bugatti, he is the same guy who sold Floyd Mayweather his Bugatti.  

6. 2018 Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible

Arnold Schwarzenegger's appreciation for Bentleys is well-documented, having owned several models over the years, including a GT Speed Convertible and an older model Arnage. Spotted for the first time in late 2018 with a Bentley Continental GT Speed Conv., Arnold acknowledges that daily driving a Hummer H1 isn't for everyone. Thus, he opted for the Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible. 

Arnold's Continental GT Speed Conv. features an all-black exterior and interior with striking yellow accents in both areas. Weather permitting, Arnold is often seen enjoying this vehicle around town, either solo or accompanied by his son.

5. Bentley Continental GT Supersports Convertible

Not one to settle for just a couple of Bentleys, Arnold added a third to his collection: the highly sought-after Bentley Continental GT Supersports Convertible. Finished in black with a matching black soft top, and red upholstery, this convertible is valued at over $320,000. 

Arnold was only spotted a few times hitting cafes in his Supersports Convertible while most of the time it was his Continental GTC that he took out for a spin. 

4. 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster is another standout convertible in Arnold Schwarzenegger's impressive collection. "The Terminator" himself was seen driving this Roadster as early as 2010. This SLS AMG Schwarzenegger owns is finished in white, featuring a striking contrast with its red soft top and red interior. 

The former Mr. Olympian has been seen often driving the SLS AMG in Beverly Hills while the most talked about instance was back in March 2013 as Arnold and his wife were seen leaving Caffe Roma in Beverly Hills in his SLS AMG Roadster. The car has an estimated MSRP of $220,000, yet, some sources suggest Schwarzenegger might have paid up to $540,000 for it.

3. 2000 Hummer H1 Slant Back

Arnold Schwarzenegger's fascination with the Hummer escalates to being one of the first to own the Hummer H1 Slant Back model. As a matter of fact, it was Arnold who constantly pursued General Motors to introduce a civilian version of the Military Humvee for the regular public. His collection features several Hummers, but the H1 Slant Back, finished in desert brown and valued at approximately $100,000, stands out as particularly unique. 

Arnold's purchase of the H1 Slant Back model coincidently merged as it was the crucial hours of operation “Desert Storm”. Strangely enough, it was also the same time when a few of Arnold's best hit movies like “Total Recall (1990)”, and “Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)” also made their appearance reciprocating war and action.

2. Military-Grade Humvee Hummer H1 in Olive Drab

Adding to the uniqueness of his collection is a military-grade Humvee in olive drab, LA. This particular Hummer caught Arnold's attention as he first sighted a Humvee back in 1990 when shooting for his film “Kindergarten Cop”. 

Years later, “The Expandables” actor fulfilled his desire by buying this Humvee featuring original military-style detachable doors. Back in October 2021, Arnold was captured cruising in his Humvee while chomping on a cigar on the streets of LA. 

1. Hydrogen Hummer H2H

During his tenure as Governor of California, Arnold took his passion for Hummers in a new direction with the Hydrogen Hummer H2, or H2H. In line with California's rigorous emissions standards, the H2H was a part of General Motors' initiative to explore hydrogen power's potential, aiming to demonstrate the viability of hydrogen as a clean fuel alternative.

During his gubernatorial run, Arnold also stated the importance of this “H2H” program. In an interview with Forbes, Mr. Olympian said, “The H2H is a bold experiment that along with the Hydrogen Highway Network will help California demonstrate the economic and technical viability of hydrogen, Californians invent the future and the H2H shows that a vehicle of today can run on the fuel of tomorrow.”
