Business magnate Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon and currently the world’s second richest man, has recently bought the latest Gulfstream G700 costing about $80 million. This state-of-the-art aircraft, known for its impressive range and speed, is the billionaire’s fourth aircraft addition.

A jet for every occasion

The G700 is the newest member of the private aircraft generation with a maximum range of 7550 nautical miles and speeds reaching up to Mach 0.925. Its longer "whisper-quiet" cabin features 20 panoramic windows.  Additionally, 100% fresh, plasma-ionized air is maintained and replenished every two to three minutes. This model promises a travel experience that blends comfort with cutting-edge technology.

A stealthy acquisition

The founder of Amazon tried to ensure that this major acquisition remained under wraps by using the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Privacy ICAO Aircraft Address (PIA). This program allows aircraft owners to use temporary, randomized addresses to make flights less traceable by the public. Nevertheless, the news of his latest buy was disclosed by Jack Sweeney, a college student known for tracking the flight data of high-profile individuals like Elon Musk and Taylor Swift.

Jetting across the globe

The jet recently took off from Ibiza, where Bezos and his fiancée, Lauren Sánchez, were spotted enjoying time aboard his $500 million superyacht. While the G700 offers unparalleled luxury, its frequent use has sparked environmental concerns.
According to flight data, Bezos's new aircraft completed 28 flights in just 39 days, leaving a 264-ton carbon footprint, which is 17 times higher than the annual emissions of the ordinary American. However, the billionaire’s representatives have noted that he uses sustainable aviation fuel and offsets his carbon footprint through various environmental projects.

A growing fleet and billionaire status

Gulfstream G700 is the latest addition to the aircraft Jeff Bezos was accumulating, including two Gulfstream G650 and Pilatus PC-24. His collection of aircraft is worth over $200 million and once again shows his love for luxurious things.
This latest acquisition is not new, as Bezos is gradually cementing himself in the skies while distancing himself from Amazon's operational activities.
