Beyoncé's charity foundation, the BeyGOOD Foundation, has given $2.5 million to help communities devastated by the recent wildfires in Los Angeles. The donation is intended to help families in Altadena and Pasadena who have lost their homes, as well as churches and community groups that are addressing immediate needs.
Details of the Donation
The BeyGOOD Foundation announced the commitment on January 12, 2025, with an Instagram post stating, "Los Angeles, we stand with you. BeyGOOD is taking action by donating 2.5 million dollars to the Los Angeles Fire Relief Fund. The funds will be used to help families who have lost their homes, as well as to support local institutions that provide emergency assistance.
Impact of the Wildfires
The Los Angeles wildfires have caused considerable devastation, with 24 confirmed deaths and many people still missing. The wildfires began on January 7, 2025, and have caused severe devastation throughout the region. More than 37,000 acres have been destroyed, and over 12,000 homes have been damaged. The BeyGOOD Foundation's donation is part of a larger effort to help those affected by the disaster.
Celebrity Contributions
In addition to Beyoncé's hefty donation, several celebrities have helped with the relief efforts. Paris Hilton, who lost her Malibu house in the fire, offered a $100,000 personal contribution and promised to match any extra funds donated up to $100,000. Eva Longoria contributed $50,000 to help those affected by the fires.
