Dale Earnhardt Sr Car Collection Is Far Inferior To His Son Jr's Collection

Born in 1951 in Kannapolis, North Carolina, Dale Earnhardt Sr. was a NASCAR race driver who dominated the tracks in the 80s and 90s. He is a six-time NASCAR Cup Series winner including wins at the Indy 500. The NASCAR legend competed from 1975 to 2001 and established himself as one of NASCAR G.O.A.T.

Besides his racing career, Dale Sr. was known for his rich taste and knowledge of automobiles and owned several cars from different manufacturers. Dale Earnhardt is a 6 time NASCAR Championship Cup winner including wins in the Indy 500 Daytona racing. One of the most notable wins in his racing career would be his win in the 1995 NASCAR championship. He was using his signature No. 3 Goodwrench Chevy race car which was painted in an iconic silver color scheme. The car has a significant history of NASCAR racing and is sitting in the Dream Car Museum beaming the undeniable history of Dale’s racing career.

While QuickSilver was known for its massive championship performances, the car managed to catch many extra sets of eyes just because of the paint jobs. Although, he never won the gold in the 95 championships the All-Star color scheme surely captivated the fan's attraction during the time. Blue & White, Orange, Black & Gold, Black & Yellow, and a mixture of Yellow, Purple, and Pink color schemes were the most famous ones.

3. 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396

Besides his racing accolades, Dale Earnhardt Sr. is a true car lover and enthusiast who has a keen eye for automobiles. He was the owner of a Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 model painted in a light blue color scheme. He used the car in his day-to-day use and was even a part of an exclusive car collection interview in “The Gary Klutt Podcast”. The car boasts a classic body design with significant American automotive history. The 2-door midsize coupe was produced from 1964 to 1978 going through 3 generations.

The Chevelle SS boasts a 6.5L V8 engine capable of generating a total of 375 horsepower with 415 lb-ft of torque. The midsize coupe can complete the 0-60 mph sprint in 6.2 seconds thanks to the 3-speed manual transmission. The only downside of the car would be its unimpressive 113 mph top speed.

2. 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air

The most beloved car in Dale’s collection would be his 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air saloon. The 4-door sedan from Chevy is a testament to class and elegance which was produced by General Motors. The front fascia of the car exudes the signature grille while the most notable design part of the car is the rear bonnet extension on both sides making it a one-of-a-kind. Dale bought the car and made some restorations but tried to keep the classic as original as possible. Although a good-conditioned 57 Bel Air will cost around $75K in today’s market, putting a price on Dale’s Bel Air is a tough task for anyone.

The only similarity between Earnhardt Jr's car collection and his father's is the Chevelle SS. It is to be noted that Jr. has a 1955 model and it has been customized mostly. On the contrary, Earnhardt Sr.'s Chevy Bel Air is up for grabs and the NASCAR legend didn't make any customization before his passing away.

1. 1996 Chevrolet Monte Carlo NASCAR

Perhaps the most profound race car in Dale’s NASCAR career would be the iconic No.3 Goodwrench Chevrolet Monte Carlo painted in black. Bearing chassis number 22, the particular car was used by Dale in the 1996 NASCAR Championship at the Rockingham Speedway where he finished the race in a record time. After the death of Earnhardt on February 18, 2001, NASCAR team owner Richard Childress put the car up for auction where it was sold with a $425,000 price tag. The money went on to the relief fund for COVID-19.

One of the most iconic pieces of NASCAR history belonged to Earnhardt Sr.'s car collection - the 1996 Chevy Monte Carlo NASCAR. Sr's Monte Carlo is from the RCR shop and it was used four times in championship appearances. Although Dale managed to snatch victory only one time riding his iconic Black Monte Carlo at Dover International Speedway, the sheer history of the car is much more than it appears to be.
