Barry Weiss, the beloved star of Storage Wars, is not only known for his unpredictable bidding and eccentric personality but also for his incredible passion for cars. His collection is a thrilling mix of vintage classics, muscle cars, and one-of-a-kind custom rides. From a sleek 1966 Shelby Mustang to a 1947 Cowboy Cadillac, Barry’s love for automotive history is evident in every vehicle he owns.
Each car in his collection tells a unique story of his legendary bidding wars, showcasing his eye for rare, high-performance, and timeless machines. Actually, his passion and eye for valuable classics reminds us of Mr. Jay Leno who himself is an avid collector of rare cars. Let's dive deeper and know more about the “King of Collectibles” car collection.
8. 2004 Rolls-Royce Phantom
According to Spare Foot's president Marc Smith, unpaid storage units are an issue that occurs frequently in Florida. In this case, the unpaid unit was sold for $7,000, a higher price. On the inside, however, was a stunning Rolls-Royce ride and Barry got real lucky with this one.
2004 Rolls-Royce | Specs |
---|---|
Price | $7,000 (Storage Unit) |
Powertrain | 6.7L V12 |
Horsepower | 453 HP |
Torque | 531 lb-ft |
Transmission | 6-Speed Automatic |
0-60 MPH | 5.6 seconds |
Top Speed | 155 MPH |
Now, selling it wasn't easy because of how difficult it was to actually own the ride. However, it was still a rare find that most storage unit hunters do not expect to find every day. At the very least, the buyer was able to pay off the unit's purchase price with such a find.
7. 1939 Lincoln Zephyr
Barry purchased the vehicle in 2013 for $55,000, which we think is an absolute steal deal. Barry completely repainted the ride black, but even in purple, the car wasn't all that bad and drew a lot of attention on the roads. It looks completely different in dark black, and, dare we say, Batman would love it to the core.
1939 Lincoln Zephyr | Specs |
---|---|
Price | $55,000 |
Powertrain | 3.0L V6 |
Horsepower | 221 HP |
Torque | 205 lb-ft |
Transmission | 6-speed automatic |
0-60 MPH | 7.6 seconds |
Top Speed | 90 MPH |
When Hot Wheels recreated the car, it gained new fame. It was purchased for a quarter of a million dollars in 1999. Years later, Barry paid less than half the price. After applying for the black paint job and making some other changes, the value skyrocketed once more. He is a wise car collector and knows the market well.
6. 1966 Shelby Mustang
The name “Shelby” is enough to make enthusiasts' hearts pound. Naturally, this rare discovery has seen its value soar, potentially hitting six figures if not more. Not a bad find at all if you ask us, and just another reason to dive into storage unit hunts with more patience and enthusiasm.
1966 Shelby Mustang | Specs |
---|---|
Price | N/A |
Powertrain | Cobra 289 High-Performance V8 |
Horsepower | 306 HP |
Torque | 329 lb-ft |
Transmission | 6-speed manual |
0-60 MPH | 6.6 seconds |
Top Speed | 138 MPH |
Who knows what other hidden gems await? Also, the car enthusiasts could get lucky and uncover a true beauty like this and make a good sum of money. We think that the sound of the dual exhaust Cobra Edition and ultimate muscle car charm is not something Barry would let go anytime soon!
5. DeLorean DMC-12
This is a car with a contentious history. Some motor enthusiasts adore the ride's futuristic body, while others mock its poor road performance. Although it appears to be from the future, it does not drive in that manner. This frequently resulted in the car being abandoned by its owners.
DeLorean DMC 12 | Specs |
---|---|
Price | $75,000 |
Powertrain | 2.85L V6 |
Horsepower | 130 HP |
Torque | 153 lb-ft |
Transmission | 5-speed Manual |
0-60 MPH | 10.5 seconds |
Top Speed | 130 MPH |
Well, there are numerous cases where these cars were left at junkyards, no mans land or storages to rust. The same thing happened during a storage find on the show Storage Hunter UK. The couple discovered a tucked-away DeLorean but strangely in remarkable condition. Mind you, these cars can fetch thousands of dollars from the pockets of their enthusiasts.

4. 1947 Cowboy Cadillac
The 1947 Cowboy Cadillac is undeniably the most prized possession of Barry. He himself has stated that he will never consider getting rid of this ride. Seriously, no one in their sane mind will give up on such a piece of history. Even decades later, the car is mechanically sound and is quite visually appealing.
1947 Cowboy Cadillac | Specs |
---|---|
Price | $99,995 |
Powertrain | 5.7L V8 |
Horsepower | 150 HP |
Torque | 274 lb-ft |
Transmission | 3-Speed Manual |
0-60 MPH | 15.5 seconds |
Top Speed | N/A |
As reported by Roadkill Customs, the Cowboy Cadillac was crafted in the late 1940s by designer Frank Derosa, who was known for his custom hot rod creations. Over the years, he built several unique vehicles, and like the rest of Barry’s collection, this one-of-a-kind car is a rare sight today and can fetch a grand sum of money without any doubts.
3. 1957 Ford Ranchero
Certainly a stylish coupe utility vehicle in all its regard, Barry Weiss mentioned about his love for this one in an interview. It was customized in Barry style to suit him the best. It belongs to the first-generation models that were produced between 1957 and 1959.
1957 Ford Ranchero | Specs |
---|---|
Price | N/A |
Powertrain | 3.9-liter Y-block V8 |
Horsepower | 130 hp |
Torque | 170 lb-ft |
Transmission | 3-speed manual |
0-60 MPH | N/A |
Top Speed | N/A |
It was fitted with a then powerful V8 engine. However, it's 116-inch wheelbase was slightly shorter than what you would find on similar vehicles. No matter what! This one shines bright when style and practicality are top priorities.
2. James Bond Submarine Car
Well, this car was one of the most iconic finds in the storage for Mr. Barry Weiss. We have seen many bizarre things coming out of storage, but this one's pure gold. Actually, Barry paid just $100 for a storage locker that housed the iconic Lotus Esprit from the 1977 film The Spy Who Loved Me.
Converted into a functioning submarine for the film, the car, known as "Wet Nellie," was found covered with a sheet. According to Jalopnik, this rare find is now estimated to be worth nearly $1 million. It was finally sold to none other than Mr. Elon Musk. Damn! What a discovery! We already aspire to find such storage boxes and dive right into the business.
1. Tesla Roadster
When it comes to storage unit treasures, we often picture dusty old relics marked with hefty price tags. But imagine this: a Tesla Roadster tucked away in an abandoned shipping container! In the "Judgment Day" episode of Storage Hunters, a pair of lucky hunters uncovered a pristine, cover-shrouded Tesla Roadster, just waiting to be discovered. Now that's a find worth celebrating!
Tesla Roadster | Specs |
---|---|
Price | $150,000. |
Powertrain | Electric |
Horsepower | 288 HP |
Torque | 273 lb-ft |
Transmission | 1-speed automatic |
0-60 MPH | 4.4 seconds |
Top Speed | 125 MPH |
The ride was in very good condition and appeared to have never been used. According to the Tesla Motors Club, the car was apparently an insurance write-off. Talk about hitting the big time! Even in the current market scenario, such a piece of history can fetch anything close to $160,000.
Special Mentions
1. Tim Burton Batmobile

2. 1940 Ford COE Truck
Well, this one was an interesting find. If you look at this truck, there's nothing common with pickups you see these days on the road. What made this truck even more special is that it was worked upon by Barry himself. Most of the components you would find on this cute red truck have been modified at their best. It has a beating 95 Chevy small block engine, Zephyr headlights, and a freaking diamond-plated bed. He sold this truck to his close friend Bob.
3. 1955 Ford Beatnik Custom Bubble Top Car
To be honest, this one can be considered one of the most bizarre cars that Barry Weiss laid his hands upon. It is unlike any other car you would usually see around you. The large bubble-shaped glass, windshield, or roof, whatever you say, isn't practical in a possible way. It took hotrod builder Gary Chopit three years to complete the car. Despite all the hard work, it was finally auctioned by Barry for $165,000, which is much more than expected.
4. 1937 Bugatti 57s
The car’s obsessed owner, a doctor, kept it concealed from the public for over 50 years, stored away in a garage unit. He purchased it for just 895 Euros in the 1950s. Fast forward years later, after his passing, the car was uncovered and auctioned off. To everyone's astonishment, it fetched a staggering $3 million—an unbelievable jump from its original price of $895. Barry, no doubt, must have wished he’d been the lucky one to claim this extraordinary piece of history.
