7. 1967 Pontiac Firebird 

The driving force behind Gas Monkey Garage showcases his passion for American muscle with an extraordinary collection of Pontiac Firebirds. Among his prized possessions are the first two production Firebirds, VIN 001 and VIN 002, embodying Pontiac’s bold entry into the competitive late '60s market. VIN 001, a striking Regimental Red convertible, and VIN 002 stands out with its sleek silver body and black vinyl hardtop.

Under the expert guidance of shop manager Russell Holmes, Rawlings transformed these Firebirds from neglected relics into stunning masterpieces. The meticulous restorations preserved original elements while enhancing performance, ensuring each car not only looks impeccable but also delivers thrilling drives. Although Rawlings once tried to auction his Firebirds, captivating collectors and enthusiasts alike, the details of the results of the event are unknown.

6. 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat 

The vibrant star of Discovery Channel’s Fast N’ Loud once decided to part with a gem from his prized car collection, a rare 2015 Challenger Hellcat. Gas Monkey Garage listed this exceptional Hellcat, finished in striking Sublime Green, on eBay, proudly noting it was only the 12th Hellcat ever produced. Although he listed the car, he didn’t sell it as this prized possession was stolen in 2019.

The car, adorned with a priceless photo of their son, became the target of a relentless search. Gas Monkey Garage and Rawlings shared images of the suspects across social media, but months passed without a breakthrough. Confirmed by its VIN and Rawlings’ special Red Key, the car was reclaimed, though damaged. While the thief remained elusive, Rawlings navigated insurance claims and honored his promise to reward the finder, celebrating the car’s return after nine long months.

4. 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

Richard Rawlings' love for Ford Mustangs runs deep, with his prized possession being a custom-built 1968 Shelby Mustang Shelby GT500 created during the first season of Fast N' Loud. Drawing inspiration from The Thomas Crown Affair, this unique Mustang features off-road wheels, robust lighting, and a lifted design, making it stand out on any terrain.

In a recent video, automotive YouTuber Dennis Collins reunites with his long-time friend Rawlings to chase after a super-rare 1968 "Playboy" Shelby Cobra GT350 convertible. Collins, a Ford Mustang aficionado, showcases his sharp eye for rare finds, much to Rawlings’ frustration. Their spirited banter takes center stage when Collins acquires the convertible, revealing it to be one of just 79 Raven Black models ever produced and the only black car among ten Shelbys used by Playboy Enterprises for promotional tours.

3. 1986 Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible

The 1986 Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible is a leisure car that stands in Richard’s garage. There was a time when he just saw the picture of Rolls-Royce Corniche and wished to have it in his life at some point.

Now the car just stands in his garage with other Pontiacs and Hot Rods. The car is an exquisite example of luxury from the time it was manufactured.

2. 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

Richard Rawlings’ personal car collection once featured a remarkable 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am. Maintained as a 100-point original example, this vehicle preserved its authentic charm and mechanical integrity, making it a standout piece in Rawlings’ collection.

The car held special significance for Richard, as it was identical to the first Trans-Am he owned during his high school years, connecting his past passion with his present collection.

1. 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition

The 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition was a sudden buy for Richard. He and his friend Dennis Collin were after the Cannonball title and they did but the legitimacy of the run from New York to Los Angeles in under 32 hours was questionable.

So after that when Richard got the opportunity to get the 25th Anniversary Edition of the ‘89 Lamborghini Countach, he did not let that pass by. The car is a low, black car that was able to do such speeds which were difficult to imagine back in time.

Special Mention: 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Jailbreak

One of his standout giveaways featured his personal allocation of the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Jailbreak. This limited-edition model, based on the 2023 Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody, was a coveted gem among muscle car aficionados. Rawlings opened the doors for one lucky winner to customize this powerhouse exactly to their desires, complete with an additional $25,000 prize. 

The SRT Jailbreak was typically out of reach for many. However, Rawlings made it attainable, allowing the winner to experience the thrill without the hefty price tag.
