Sheryl Crow Parts Ways with Tesla

Grammy-winning singer Sheryl Crow has made a bold statement by selling her Tesla and donating the earnings to NPR. In a February 14 Instagram post, Crow explained her decision, expressing concerns about Musk's influence on Trump’s administration.“

My parents always said… you are who you hang out with. There comes a time when you have to decide who you are willing to align with. So long Tesla,” she wrote, sharing a video of her car being hauled away.

The video, set to Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman’s “Time to Say Goodbye,” quickly gained attention, with fellow artists like Kacey Musgraves and Margo Price praising her move.

Donation to NPR Amid Threats to Public Broadcasting

Crow’s donation to NPR comes amid increasing pressure on public media, with Musk’s DOGE initiative and Trump’s administration reportedly seeking to cut federal funding for NPR and PBS.“

Money donated to @npr, which is under threat by President Musk, in hopes that the truth will continue to find its way to those willing to know the truth,” she added.

Growing Concerns Over Musk’s Role in Trump’s Administration

Musk, now leading the Department of Government Efficiency, has been tasked with cutting federal programs, a move that critics argue could undermine public services. His influence has been a growing concern among Democratic lawmakers and media figures.

Crow has been outspoken about her opposition to Trump since his first term, previously stating she hoped for his impeachment. Now, with Musk’s deepening role in government, she has taken a personal stand by parting ways with her Tesla.

More to Come

Trump and Musk are set to discuss the DOGE initiative and other key policies in an exclusive interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity on February 18. Meanwhile, Crow’s public protest has sparked further debate over Musk’s influence and the future of public broadcasting.
