“Good evening, everybody. How y’all doing? It is great to talk to you tonight. I’m sorry I could not be there in person, but I want to send a special thank you to all my doctors, my beautiful wife, my children, my family, my teammates, and all the prayer warriors out there. We are Mossing cancer, and I cannot wait to get back on television with all my guys.”
Presenting the Comeback Player of the Year Award
Moss had the honor of presenting the Comeback Player of the Year award to Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. He reflected on winning the same award in 2007 with the New England Patriots.
“There's no better story in the National Football League than the one about a player who does big things, overcomes adversity, and faces obstacles but ultimately finds their way back to the mountaintop.”
His Cancer Journey
Moss first hinted at his diagnosis when he stepped away from ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown in December. Days later, he confirmed the news on Instagram Live."
Your boy is a cancer survivor. Been in the hospital for six days. I just got out today, thank God. So, first and foremost, I’d like to thank God for really just blessing me and my family through this trying time, and me being able to come outta this surgery and fight and battle this cancer.”
Doctors discovered the cancer in his bile duct, between the pancreas and liver. Moss underwent a six-hour surgery and has been recovering since.
