After defeating the 58-year-old boxing champion Mike Tyson with a unanimous decision, Jake Paul might just be heading for his biggest ever. Reports suggest that a deal is in the works between Jake Paul and Canelo Alvarez to face off on May 3, 2025. Here is what we know about the fight so far.
Paul vs Alvarez
Mike Coppinger from ESPN reports that the two are in talks to fight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Paul has been calling out Alvarez for years and this fight might just be what he's looking for.
The 28-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer is currently on a five-win streak and has been on a hunt for a high-profile fight ever since his previous fight with Tyson.

The link-up was first hinted after the Tyson fight during the Tyson fight when Nakisa Bidarian, founder of Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions mentioned the possibility of taking on Alvarez when questioned about Paul facing off against MMA fighter Conor McGregor.
Taking to the “TimboSugarShow podcast”, Paul also said, “Canelo is on his way out, he’s going to want a payday, and I want to show the world that all the sh*t I’ve been talking about beating Canelo is actually true.”
Alvarez vs Crawford
The link-up between Paul and Alvarez also means that the blockbuster fight with super welterweight champion Terrence Crawford might be out of the table. The news broke just a few days ago that the two champions will face off against each other in a September event for the Riyadh Season show. Instead, Alvarez might just face off against his most unlikely opponent in the form of Jake Paul.
Breaking Records
Jake Paul, despite going after mediocre and retired opponents, has managed to bring in the money. His recent fight with Iron Mike Tyson was the first one to be live-streamed on Netflix and sold nearly 60k tickets. With this upcoming fight, Paul might just outdo himself.
