The highly anticipated fight between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Terence Crawford has been finalized. The Ring Magazine broke the news last night that the two middleweight champs have agreed to headline a September clash for the Riyadh Season show at the iconic Las Vegas’ Allegiant stadium. Here are the details that we know so far.
Alvarez vs. Crawford
The 37-year-old No. 2-ranked pound-for-pound boxer Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) will now climb up to two more weight classes to 168 pounds to face off the 34-year-old Alvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs). He has previously held all four belts at super lightweight and welterweight.
Alvarez on the other hand currently ranked at No.6 on the Uncrowned’s pound-for-pound boxer list and will be defending his WBA, WBC, and WBO middleweight titles this year before the ultimate clash with Crawford. With both the fighters being four-division world champions, Crawford will be aiming to earn the title of a five-division champion with this fight.
Riyadh Season
The fight between Alvarez and Crawford will be a part of the Riyadh Season show. Owned and operated by Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority and Turki Alalshikh who also owns the Ring Magazine, the fight has been long overdue.

With Alvarez initially resisting, Alalshikh has managed to bring him on board after a meeting in London. Now that all is set, the two have come to a verbal agreement for a showdown this September.
Home of the Raiders
While the fight itself is all set to be a blockbuster, the venue chosen for the show is also grabbing attention. The showdown between the two champs will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, popularly known for being the Home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.
The stadium has not been a venue for a fight till now despite some talks about hosting high-profile fights but looks like the stadium couldn’t have had a better debut. Additionally, the Allegiant Stadium will also be hosting the WrestleMania later this April.
The showdown between the two middleweight champions will be a sight to see. Will the undefeated Crawford be able to dethrone the much-heavier Alvarez? Stay Tuned.
