Grammy Award-winning pop icon SZA or Solána Imani Rowe recently mesmerized fans and netizens with her recent Instagram post that showed her transformative trip to India. "Kill Bill" singer immersed herself in an advanced meditation program at the Isha Foundation in Tamil Nadu.

SZA's Connection with India: A Spiritual Reset

‘Ctrl (2017)’ album singer SZA, known for her soulful voice and introspective lyrics, participated in the Samyama program, an advanced meditation retreat led by the controversial figure Sadhguru at the Isha Foundation. In the program, SZA tried to disconnect from the world and described her experience as “Life is so profound and chaotic and beautiful.” SZA took to Instagram, stating:
“I have no words for my Samyama experience. No phone, no mirrors, no eye contact for 8+ days… I lost my mind… then found it.”

This was the second time SZA's visited the Isha Foundation. The last time the "Good Days" singer visited the ashram was in 2021.

A Cultural Exchange: The Power of Indian Arts

During SZA’s visit, she witnessed a captivating performance by the students of Sadhguru Gurukulam Samskriti, a unique school that combines academic education with Indian classical arts. Sharing her awe, SZA posted pictures on Instagram with a long caption which included,
"The scales, the syncopation, the runs… INSANE… they brought me to TEARS." She continued with “I’ve never seen such vibrant discipline”

SZA even hinted at incorporating the music into her future projects. She sampled various audios from different rituals and events at the foundation and sent them for production work immediately.

SZA's Gratitude to the Isha Foundation

SZA expressed profound gratitude to the Isha Foundation, its volunteers, and Sadhguru for creating a space of spiritual growth. She shared:
“Infinite thanks to @isha.foundation, @sadhguru, @radhejaggi, @chekothari, and EVERY Isha volunteer that took care of my mother and myself. My love for the process and this life is indescribable. Namaskaram.”

Why SZA’s Journey Matters

SZA’s spiritual trip to India resonates with fans worldwide. She is going to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime on February 9, 2025, along with Drizzy Drake’s nemesis and multiple Grammy award winner, Kendrick Lamar. Her recent visit to the Isha Foundation is seen as a relaxing act before the big event. Furthermore, she will also be going on the “Grand National Tour” with Kendrick in 2025. This US tour will start on 19th April and will conclude on 18th June.
