About Timothée Chalamet

Timothée Chalamet is more than a handsome face — he really embodies the French-inspired cache of an A-list heartthrob in Hollywood. He made his acting debut on the 2012 series Homeland as a teenager. Born in 1996, he is best known for his breakthrough role as a young romantic in Luca Guadagnino's Call Me by Your Name (2017). He was given an Oscar nod for that performance.

He's also been leveling up to blockbuster stardom—leading the epic Dune series as Paul Atreides and stepping into the iconic shoes of Willy Wonka in the 2023 musical fantasy film. Beyond acting, he's a full-fledged sex and fashion icon who steals the show on the red carpet with every appearance.

Being one of the most gifted performers of his generation, possibly the most skilled, Chalamet has a net worth of $25 million and his career is still skyrocketing!

Early Life

As a kid, Timmy kicked off his career in commercials and appeared in two horror short films, Sweet Tooth and Clown.

  • Was cast as a murder victim in his first television appearance on Law & Order in 2009. That year, he also snagged a small part in the TV movie Loving Leah.
  • By 2011, Timmy was making waves on stage in the Off-Broadway play The Talls, where he played a sexually curious 12-year-old.
  • Scored recurring roles in Royal Pains and the hit series Homeland in 2012.
  • The actor made his big screen debut in 2014 with a small part in Men, Women & Children. He then landed a bigger role as Matthew McConaughey's kid in Christopher Nolan's science fiction blockbuster Interstellar.
  • Appeared in Worst Friends, a comedy that received positive reviews in 2014.
  • Chalamet starred in One & Two, a fantasy thriller that premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2015.
  • Capped off 2015 with the holiday comedy Love the Coopers, though the film didn’t exactly win over critics.
  • Took to the stage again in 2016, starring in the autobiographical play Prodigal Son, which earned him major praise and the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Lead Actor.

Family

Timothée Chalamet was born in the heart of New York City and grew up in the vibrant neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen. His childhood home was Manhattan Plaza, a hub for artists.

  • Has an older sister, Pauline, who's also in the acting biz.
  • His mom, Nicole Flender, brings a unique mix to the table. She’s a third-generation New Yorker with Russian and Austrian Jewish roots, a Yale graduate, a real estate agent, and a former Broadway dancer.
  • His dad, Marc Chalamet, is from France and works as an editor for UNICEF, having previously been a journalist for Le Parisien.
  • Thanks to Marc, he is not only bilingual, speaking fluent French, but he also holds dual citizenship.
  • And then, Kylie Jenner came into the picture! Pictures of her Range Rover outside Timmy’s Beverly Hills pad went viral on social media. After making a splash at Beyoncé’s concert with some serious PDA, the duo hit the Golden Globes red carpet together, officially giving a “power couple” vibe.
