  • Steven Anthony Ballmer was born on March 24, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan.
  • He attended Detroit Country Day School, where he excelled academically and showed an early interest in mathematics.
  • After high school, Ballmer went to Harvard University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics and Economics in 1977.
