Scottie Scheffler has injured himself with a broken Glass in his right palm while preparing for the Christmas dinner, and reports have come out confirming the Athlete’s decision to drop himself from the upcoming PGA Tour season’s opening event, in Hawaii.
Injury Forces Scheffler to Miss PGA Tour Opener
World Number One in the official gold ranking, Scottie suffered a puncture wound to his right palm, as stated by his manager ‘’Scottie sustained a puncture wound to the palm of his right hand from a broken glass, and small glass fragments remained in the palm which required surgery. He has been told that he should be back to 100% in three to four weeks.”
As a result, he has withdrawn from the upcoming PGA Tour opening event, the Sentry, scheduled from January 2-5, 2025 in Hawaii. Missing the opening event comes as a disappointment to fans eager to see him start strong this season. However, Scheffler is optimistic about making a full recovery and has already set his sights on the American Express Tournament in La Quinta, California, from January 16-19.
Reflecting on Scheffler’s Remarkable Last Season
Scheffler dominated last season, earning the Jack Nicklaus Award for PGA Tour Player of the Year in a landslide victory. When he joined the ranks of all-time greats Tiger Woods, he became one of the few players to win the award three years in a row.
Throughout the season, Scheffler secured seven PGA Tour victories, which includes his second Masters triumph. He made history by becoming the first player to win The Players Championship in back-to-back years.
On the other side, on the international stage, he struck with a gold medal performance at the Olympics, shooting an incredible 62 on the final day. He wrapped up his outstanding run by claiming the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup.
