Khabib Nurmagomedov, a former UFC champion, was removed from a Frontier Airlines flight at Las Vegas' Harry Reid International Airport after a dispute about his seat in an exit row. The incident deteriorated when flight attendants questioned his ability to aid in an emergency, prompting his departure from the plane. Nurmagomedov later denounced the airline on social media, claiming that racial or national bias had influenced the occurrence.

The dispute occurred when flight attendants expressed concerns about Nurmagomedov's ability to assist in an emergency due to his seating in an exit row. Despite his assertions of proficiency in English and willingness to help, the situation escalated. Nurmagomedov was asked to move due to concerns about his ability to speak clear and concise English. The crew member asked the 36-year-old to move to a different seat, a request he denied. After that, the crew members called the supervisor, and Khabib was dropped off from the flight. He was also looking polite to the crew members, as we can see in the video circulating on the internet. 


Nurmagomedov's Response

Following the event, Nurmagomedov took to social media to express his dissatisfaction, implying that racial or national bias may have influenced his treatment. He highlighted that he had followed all check-in procedures and sought better service from the airline.Nurmagomedov claimed he conducted himself respectfully, but the flight attendant was "very rude" and questioned whether his treatment was due to "racial" or "national" bias. According to Nurmagomedov, he boarded a different airline's aircraft to Los Angeles 90 minutes later. "Those crew members could do better next time and just be nice with clients," he wrote at the end of his post to X.


Frontier Airlines' Statement

Frontier Airlines acknowledged the event and stated that they were investigating the problem. The airline also verified that Nurmagomedov received a reimbursement for the disrupted flight. They also added that if necessary, they will contact the customer to conduct further investigations.
