Eric Maibus, who is well known for his appearances in hallmark, and ugly betty, was arrested yesterday. According to the reports, Maibus and a 40 year old lady who was accompanying him in the bar had a fight with the bartender first due to their rude behaviour. Sheriffs reached the spot on time and arrested both of them under the charges for simple battery and resisting without violence.

Allegations

A 53-year-old television star was arrested after an altercation in a Nassau County bar early Thursday morning. The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened at The Goat on Lofton Square Court, where Eric Mabius and a 40-year-old woman were intoxicated and creating a disturbance.

Witnesses told the police that the incident accelerated when the bartender asked the Maibus and the women with him started spitting over the people present in the bar. The actor was also accused of pushing the women on the ground and pulling out fistfuls of her hair.

Deputies told the news channel WJXT, they reached the bar and separated the women and the television star. The moment they separated them the star became increasingly belligerent. The police also said that the star was uncooperative with the investigation process.

Legal Proceedings and Potential Implications

Mabius is facing two misdemeanor charges in Florida: battery and resisting arrest without violence. If he is found guilty, he could receive fines, probation, or even jail time. This situation might also affect his work, especially with networks like Hallmark that focus on family-friendly programming. As the legal process continues, more details about the events leading up to the incident and what happened afterward are expected to come out.
