Usain Bolt’s Car Collection Depicts His Passion For Speed

Usain Bolt is the fastest runner in the world right now. and the Jamaican sprinter has been one of the highest-paid athletes in the world. These days he has spun off various ventures ranging from a fast-food chain to a shaving company.

Along with these his several endorsements were enough to push his net worth to over $90 million as of now. And as you have noticed, celebrities love to have a bunch of cars in their garages.

But being a lover of speed he does not buy just any cars, instead most of his choice of wheels are some of the fastest cars of their time and segment. But do note the first car on our Jeep Wrangler is an exception as even the world’s fastest sprinter sometimes needs an off-road capable vehicle too.

8. 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Usain Bolt owns a black custom 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited which is said to be worth 43 million Jamaican dollars. When converted to U.S. dollars it comes to be around $285,000. Considering a 2017 Wrangler Unlimted had an MSRP of $42,945, it’s evident he has splurged a huge sum of money in customization.

Speaking of which his Jeep gets a 3-inch full fox suspension setup and rolls on 22-inch Avorza AVF44C forged alloy wheels. It has a custom matte black paint job on the exterior and the interior features leather upholstery finished in the Jamaican flag color theme. The seats are finished off with his custom logo added to the center of every seat and with a full Audison Hertz sound system with custom-built box and a Magnaflow cat back exhaust.

7. 2008 E46 BMW M3

The navy blue 2008 BMW M3 coupe was a gift to Usain Bolt from his sponsor Puma after winning three gold medals in Beijing Olympics. The full-blown M car at that time carried a sticker price of $56,500. Sadly, within months of owning the car, he crashed it but came out with minor injuries.

A couple of years later he again crashed the car while returning from a party. Thus in a short time, his M3 crashed twice showing how the then young athlete was overwhelmed by the high-performance M3.

Usain Bolt had prior experience of the car, when he was invited at BMW Vehicle Test Facility in Aschheim near Munich. He also stated that he first witnessed the BMW M3 coupe in Jamaica and it was "love at first sight." The fastest man on earth chose his dream car in a black exterior and completely fell in love as you can see in the picture.

Another cool SUV that Usain Bolt drives is the 2019 Mercedes G63 AMG finished in a shade of black. The AMG G63 SUV is not only an extreme off-road species but also transcends the utmost level of comfort and pace while being one of the most rugged luxury SUV. The tremendously fast acceleration gives goosebumps. On his Instagram account, Bolt has showcased this car in two or three posts and it looks sick, especially in the dark shade.

2019 Mercedes-AMG G63

The 2019 Mercedes-AMG G63 is the second multi-terrain vehicle in the list, however, the G63 is substantially more opulent and powerful than his custom Wrangler. Mercedes revamped the SUV while maintaining its utilitarian design ethos and it certainly looks gangster in the black exterior.

5. 2012 Nissan GT-R Bolt Special

In 2012 when Usain Bolt showcased brilliant performance in the Olympics, he was signed by Nissan to promote its high-performance sportscar, the GT-R.

However, Nissan paid tribute to Mr. Bolt, with a special edition of the GT-R, painted in a shade of gold and with some other tweaks. This was called the Nissan GT-R Bolt Special, and only three of these were ever made. The first one of the lot was auctioned off, the second one was gifted to Bolt, and the third one was in Japan, which he autographed.

Considering Usain Bolt is the fastest man alive, Nissan's R35 GTR compliments the achievements and was also in 2009 rated as the quickest accelerating production car. Nissan also went an extra step and customized the "Bolt Gold" GT-R to suit his driving style based on the test drive he attempted when he visited the company headquarters in October 2012.

4. Ferrari California

In 2009 when Usain Bolt broke both the 100-meter and 200-meter sprint time he treated himself with a silver Ferrari California. The Ferrari is estimated to be worth $196,450 and was the very first car that he purchased with his own money.

The Grand Tourer was catered towards attracting new Ferrari customers and was designed by the Pininfarina S.p.A, under the guidance of Ken Okuyama. It is the first Ferrari in Usain Bolt's car collection, but not the last one for sure.

3. Ferrari F430 Spider

Before the Ferrari California happened, the Jamaican sprinter was given a red Ferrari F430 Spider. Driving a Ferrari in the Monte Carlo circuit was his childhood dream and Usain got the opportunity in 2008. The F430 Spider fulfilled his dream and word has it that, he liked the car so much that he decided to keep it.

Later when he bought California it’s reported he returned the F430 to Ferrari. Coming to the cost of the car, the F430 Spider in 2009 had a starting price of $244,343.

The Ferrari F430 Spider is arguably one of the best designs from Ferrari and it came with the first F136 V8 born with the collaboration with Maserati. The 430 was also developed in close co-operation with Brembo and Bosch which resulted in a cast-iron alloy for the disc that offered better heat dissipation.

2. Ferrari 458 Italia

The yellow Ferrari 458 Italia was another Ferrari that came into Usain Bolt’s life just like the F430 Spider above. The Ferrari was given to him for a week to experience the famous Fiorano Circuit along with the Ferrari 599 GTB.

The sprinter first rode shotgun with Ferrari’s test driver Dario Benuzzi then he took the wheels to push the smashing yellow Ferrari to its limits. That said, Usain Bolt paid nothing for the Ferrari but a new 458 Italia in 2010 started at $245,000.

The Ferrari 458 Italia is powered by a naturally aspirated, 4.5-liter V8 engine which is impressive in its own right, however, that's not what 458 got famous for. It had one of the shortest steering ratios of 11.9:1 compared to the 16.9:1 in the previously mentioned F430 which gave the car insane agility on the corners.

1. Rolls-Royce Cullinan

The black color Rolls-Royce Cullinan is the latest and the most expensive car that was added to Usain Bolt’s garage. Jamaica has a lot of locations where one can take a proper SUV to enjoy the terrain and he especially got a custom Jeep Wrangler for that purpose.

The Jeep helped him recognize the advantage of an SUV so the sprinter wasted no time in getting himself one of the world’s most luxurious SUVs on sale. The Rolls Royce Cullinan has a base MSRP of $348,500, which makes it the most expensive ride in Usain Bolt’s Car Collection.

Usain Bolt’s Rolls-Royce Cullinan is powered by the silky smooth twin-turbocharged, 6.75-liter V12 engine from BMW. However, that's not the focal point as the comfort and VIP treatment of the interior steal the show. The Cullinan rides on the cloud, or it feels like one. There is no road noise or any nonsense that creeps into the cabin and the utter solitude that you feel inside the Cullinan is unmatched.
