Wayne Gretzky isn’t just a legend on the ice—his passion once extended to high-performance cars as well. Though he has been rumored to own around 10 vehicles, only five have been confirmed—and all have since left his collection.

From classic muscle to rare supercars, Gretzky’s garage once housed some truly iconic rides, including two 2006 Ford GT Heritage Editions, both bearing his signature and the legendary #99. His choices reflected the same precision, style, and exclusivity that made him great on the ice.

Let’s take a closer look at the cars he once owned and where they ended up.

4. 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo

The 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo is an icon in every sense, and at one point, it had a home in Wayne Gretzky’s garage. He bought it brand new in 1989, and since then, it has changed hands twice.

Finished in Linen Grey Metallic over grey full leather, this Canadian-registered cabriolet came equipped with optional power sport seats, seat heaters, and black seat trim piping. It also features RUF wheels, adding to its distinctive appeal.

One of the most special touches? The passenger-side sun visor is signed by Gretzky himself, making this Porsche a true collector’s item.

The car made headlines at the 2008 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, where it was showcased as a “dream car” before being purchased by its current owner in 2009. At the time of the auction, it had 37,168 miles on the odometer.

In June 2015, it resurfaced on eBay with 43,915 miles and a Buy It Now price of $109,950. Though the listing is no longer available, the car likely found a new home.

Before hitting the market again, the car was detailed by Holder Detailing, with entertainment website Modded invited to document the process. A truly special Porsche with a legendary history!

3. 2005 Bentley Continental GT

Next up on the list is the 2005 Bentley Continental GT, a car that once belonged to Wayne Gretzky but, like many of his other prized rides, was eventually sold. When it resurfaced for sale after 2020, it had been driven just 39,000 miles, maintaining its well-preserved status.

What made this Bentley stand out? Aside from its connection to The Great One, it featured an Ebony Black exterior wrapped in custom matte black, complemented by 22-inch custom wheels with brand-new tires. The transformation didn’t come cheap—Dirty Bird Concepts in Arizona handled the work, racking up an impressive $60,000 in customizations.

2. 2006 Ford GT Heritage

Wayne Gretzky’s love for elite performance wasn’t limited to the ice—it extended to his car collection too! Among his prized rides were two legendary Gulf-liveried 2006 Ford GT Heritage Editions, both featuring his iconic jersey number, 99.

One of them, a rare Canadian-market example, had just 94 miles on the odometer and bore "The Great One" signature on the hood. Originally imported to the U.S. in August 2010, it appeared on Bring a Trailer in September 2023 but went unsold, failing to meet its reserve even after a $600,000 bid.

The second Ford GT was originally owned by Gretzky from 2006 to 2013 before being sold to a second owner. It resurfaced on RM Sotheby’s in 2023 and was successfully sold on October 23, 2023, for $511,000. At the time of sale, it had only 880 miles on the odometer.

1.1993 Rolls-Royce Corniche

Wayne Gretzky is a legend for a reason, and his milestones weren’t just celebrated with trophies but also with extraordinary cars. On March 23, 1994, when he shattered the NHL record for most goals scored, his then-team owner, Bruce McNall, gifted him a rare Rolls-Royce convertible, one of only 200 ever built.

For years, its whereabouts remained a mystery, likely preserved as a trophy rather than driven. In 2024, this ultra-rare piece of automotive and sports history resurfaced in Los Angeles, listed for a staggering $1,000,000—a fitting price for a car with Gretzky’s legendary connection.

Special Mentions

2020 Steinway 340 HT Powerboat

Wayne Gretzky’s love for luxury isn’t limited to cars—he’s also made waves in the world of high-end boats. In September 2020, he added a stunning custom-built $900K masterpiece to his collection, a drop in the ocean compared to his massive net worth.

Crafted by Coeur Custom Boats, this 34-foot beauty is built from sapele mahogany, accented with sleek stainless steel trim, and features an elegant white vinyl interior. With a modern hull shape reminiscent of contemporary bowriders, it’s as stylish as it is functional. Designed by his wife, Janet Gretzky, this luxury vessel is truly one of a kind.

Some More Drool-Worthy Cars

According to several media reports, Wayne Gretzky's car collection may have included even more exotic and high-performance machines. Some of the rumored cars linked to The Great One include a 2001 Ferrari F50, a 2002 Corvette Z06, a 2006 Dodge Viper, a 2000 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, and a 2020 Ford Mustang GT350, to name a few.

Just like some of his other vehicles, Gretzky was never publicly spotted driving or posing with these cars, leaving their ownership somewhat of a mystery. But given his taste for speed and exclusivity, it wouldn’t be surprising if these rare rides were once part of his private collection.
