Rick Hendrick's Car Collection Is Unfathombly Large

One of the titans in the automotive and racing industry, Rick Hendrick is the mastermind behind NASCAR's colossus Hendrick Motorsport and the founder of Hendrick Automotive Group. Rick's history with automobiles goes a long way back from becoming the youngest Chevrolet dealership owner to the founder of the most successful NASCAR team.

Regarding cars, Rick’s collection showcases a diverse range of luxury and performance-based vehicles, predominantly featuring Corvettes or other performance-based luxurious cars. Below are some of the most exclusive ones housed in his garage.

14. 1931 Chevrolet

Rick Hendrick has a special place in his heart for the cherry red 1931 Chevrolet, as this is his first-ever car. After buying it at the age of 14 Rick modified the car at his grandfather’s general store and raced in different local drag strips while setting new records.

This is one of the cars for which Rick might have paid just $250, however, he will never part ways with it. The cherry-red Chevy has been in his garage for the longest time. And on his 40th birthday, he received the car in a completely restored form as a present.

13. 1967 Chevrolet Corvette

The 1967 Chevrolet Camaro is one of the cars that stands out in Rick’s collection. This black and red car was once owned by the music legend Roy Obrinson and is one of the only two Corvettes to come with a 435 motor. What makes it more special is this it is the only one that still has the original engine.

Rick Hendrick bought this classic and exclusive Corvette from Bob and Carol Martin, who had been its faithful guardian for more than a decade. Currently this 67’ Corvette shines as a standout car in Mr. H’s collection.

12. 1963 Chevrolet Corvette

The 1963 Chevy Corvette was Rick Hendrick's first Corvette which he bought back in 1971 as stock. According to Rick, it was the car that he took his wife Linda on their first date which is why this car is among the most cherished ones in his mighty list of Corvettes. 

However, many years ago he and his wife sold this black 1963 Corvette along with most of their assets to buy his first Chevrolet dealership, but 15 years later during the early 2000s Rick tracked down the same car and repurchased it.

11. Chevrolet Lumina “Dusty”

The Chevrolet Lumina, affectionately known as “Dusty” holds a special place in Rick Hendrick's heart, alongside the annals of Hendrick Motorsport and NASCAR history. It was the first chassis that was built by Rick's NASCAR team and it boosted their credibility in the chassis-building program.

The “Dusty" might not be in NASCAR anymore, however, it played a major role for Hendrick Motorsports which is why the team has restored the car and painted it silver. And now the car resides in Rick's 58,000-square-foot garage in Concord, North Carolina.

10. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Nascar Garage 56

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Nascar Garage 56 remains a standout car in Rick Hendrick's mighty garage. It is a spectacular muscle car that left a thunderous impression in its entry at the 2023 24 Hours LeMans. 

Aside from that, the Camaro ZL1 Nascar Garage 56 also raced at the NASCAR track where it shed around 500 pounds thanks to the lighter wheels and other components. Furthermore, there are just 56 units of the racecar, making it one of Rick’s most exclusive cars.

9. 2023 Ferrari SF90 

Although not much is known about when Rick Hendrick bought his 2023 Ferrari SF90, and what he paid for it. It is known that he usually keeps the SF90 next to a row of Corvettes, and as for the price, a new one comes for $528,765.

The SF90 might not be the car closest to Rick's heart, but once in a while out for a spin around the town. And when it comes to the thrill, this Ferrari has got enough of that.

8. 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7

Rick Hendrick bought the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 from the Barrett-Jackson Auction in 2013. This car is the first production of the C7 Corvette Stingray and is one of many exclusive Chevys that Rick shelters in his garage.

Rick dropped a cool $1.1 million at the Barrett-Jackson auction for the Corvette, and the entire amount from the sale was donated to the College for Creative Studies in Detroit marking it as one of Rick's many philanthropic works.

7. 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray VIN 001

The 2024 Corvette E-Ray is Rick’s latest acquisition, which he got his hands on at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in April 2023, from the Barrett-Jackson Auction. As the first-ever Corvette E-Ray, its value shot up at the auction, and the final price halted at a whopping $1.1 million.

All proceeds from the auction of the blue 2024 Corvette E-Ray were generously donated to DonorsChose, a non-profit educational organization. 

6. 2017 Acura NSX

The 2017 Acura NSX is one of the other cars that Rick Hendrick snagged at the Barrett-Jackson Auction with a jaw-dropping bid of $1.2 million. The acquisition wasn't just about adding another car to his mighty collection, as every penny from the proceeds was donated to two children's charities.

Mr. H’s 2017 NSX sports a VIN001 badge as it is the first NSX off the production line. Aside from that, the car comes draped in a Valencia Red Pearl sheath, and inside the cabin, it boasts a leather and Alcantara trim which provides quite a sporty yet luxurious feel.

5. 2023 Ferrari SP2 Monza

Rick Hendrick added the exclusive Ferrari Monza SP2 in 2022. This sports roadster is a part of the limited "Icona" series, paying homage to Ferrari's racing heritage.

This V12-powered Ferrari is the second most expensive prancing horse in Rick's garage, and although the exact purchase price of the car remains undisclosed, its base price of $1.8 million puts it up the list.

4. 2019 Ford GT Heritage Edition

Rick Hendrick got his hands on the 2019 Ford GT Heritage Edition at Barrett-Jackson Auction in 2019. Because of its exclusivity, the bid for this first Ford GT production went up and stopped at $2.5 million.

The VIN 001 2019 Ford GT created quite some excitement among all the auction attendees when it was brought up to the stage. And after it was declared as sold all the proceedings of it were donated to United Way of Southeastern Michigan.

3. 2020 Corvette C8

The 2020 Corvette C8 is one of the priciest cars in Rick Hendrick's collection. He bought this red V8-powered monster from the Barrett-Jackson Auction in early 2020, and the price he paid for it was a jaw-dropping $3 million. And numerous other times, the proceedings from this auction were donated to the Detroit Children's Fund.

What makes the red C8's price skyrocket over a million at the auction is its production number of #VIN001, and it is no surprise that Rick paid such a hefty amount for the first-ever Corvette C8 as he has a niche for first-production cars. 

2. 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

Rick Hendrick made headlines when he secured the first retail 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 bid at a charity auction in 2022. The bid ended with the final price of a staggering $3.6 million. 

The V001 2023 C8 is the priciest and arguably the most powerful Corvette that Rick has ever bought, and all of the proceedings benefited Operation Homefront, an organization that supported military families.

1. Ferrari LaFerrari

Rick Hendrick is also the proud owner of an exclusive Ferrari LaFerrari with a staggering price tag of $5 million, making it one of the most if not the most valuable cars in his massive collection. 

His LaFerrari was also taken on loan to put it on display at the Charlotte AutoFair, allowing all the attendees to look at the Italian automotive masterpiece.
