Pat Riley, the legendary Miami Heat president and basketball icon, isn't just a mastermind on the court. He's also a passionate collector of vintage cars, just like Jay Leno. With an eye for timeless beauty and exotic charm, Riley has assembled an impressive collection of rare cars, each with its own story.

Among his prized possessions is a 1950 Mercury Coupe, affectionately named “Marilyn,” once owned by Billy Gibbons. His garage is more than just a showroom—it’s a testament to his love for history and horsepower. His car collection might be small in comparison to Shaquille O Neal’s collection, but no less when we consider its vintage charm!

The 1950 Mercury Coupe in Pat’s car collection shows his undeterred love for vintage cars. Also known widely as his “Gangster” car, this one grabs eyeballs wherever it goes. In 2014, Pat was seen leaving a car wash in Malibu in his spotless black car.

Riley was always obsessed with the 1950 Merc, referring to Mercury and not Mercedes, as one might think. He owns a convertible version as well.

Pat Riley never shies away from showing his prized possessions to the world. In an interview with Dan Le Batard, Pat gladly showcased a few of his most loved cars.

The sparkling cherry red 1950 Mercury Convertible that Pat calls “Marilyn” caught everyone’s eye, and it was put together by Pat’s classic car guy, Dave Walters. It was previously owned by ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons. The white interior of the car just looked very much in sync with the shiny exterior of the car.

Another star of the interview with Dan Le Batard was Pat’s 1971 Chevrolet Camaro SS, which he excitedly refers to as the “Bad Apple.” Well, we might not encourage Pat’s choice of this unusual name, but he said, “My mouth is watering and drooling as we get to the point where we are going to make it drivable.” The hood of the car showed all the glory under the hood, but sadly, the team was still fixing it, and it was not yet ready.

2. 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS

The unsung hero in the interview with Dan Le Batard’s episode was the black 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle in which Pat Riley arrived to showcase and talk about his cars. Just like most of his cars, this one looked heavily modified.

Nothing was specified about this car in detail, but the striking black exterior and interior, coupled with all-chrome alloy wheels, looked slick and sick!

Well, you might have heard the saying that “one is not enough,” and it holds true for Pat Riley, too. Despite being of the same generation, Pat owns not one but two Camaros in his collection. In May 2016, Pat was seen at Joel Silver's Memorial Day party.

However, what stole our attention was Pat’s sassy blue and black striped Camaro SS. He was spotted getting inside one after the event and driving back home.

The 1957 Ford Thunderbird F-Code Convertible deserves our special mention owing to the fact that it could not be a part of Pat Riley’s esteemed car collection. In April 2016, at the Barrett-Jackson auction at Palm Beach, Pat had an eye on the red-black Thunderbird F-Code Convertible, but unfortunately, he lost as a cowboy tycoon bidder took it home for $176,000.
