Braveheart Actor Mel Gibson’s Outstanding Car Collection

10. 2009 Bentley Arnage

Let’s start the list with something drop-dead gorgeous but no longer on sale. The 2009 Bentley Arnage is a prime example of Hollywood fame and success in Gibson’s garage. Though nothing much is known about the customization on this one, the Arnage was generously loaded with luxurious stuff all around. 

Anyway, Gibson has not been spotted driving this Brit. A few other actors, like Rowan Atkinson and Jason Statham, are also known for their fondness for British cars.

9. Second-Generation Smart For Two

Well, the next entry in the list is surprising even to us. A person who’s worth well over $400 million is not expected to drive around in a $12,000 Smart For Two car. But yes, Mel was spotted multiple times driving in the second-generation Smart For Two. On the first occasion, he arrived for the Mad Max Marathon at the American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood.

On the second occasion, he was spotted at the screening of “The Beaver”. However, the most talked-about instance has to be his lunch in Malibu in his dark silver car. Looking at the registration plate of the car, it is possible that Mel received this car from the brand and did not buy it himself. 

8. 2005 Lexus LS 430

The 2005 Lexus LS 430 is next on the list, and it's not the only Lexus in his car collection. Some reports suggest that he owns a Lexus LS 400 as well. Unlike some of his other luxurious cars, Mel was spotted filling gas in his golden Lexus LS 430 model. On one of the occasions, he was accompanied by his son as well. 

The Lexus LS series is no ordinary car and has made it to the collections of top-notch actors like Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck.

7. Lexus LS 460

As said, Melson has owned multiple Lexus cars throughout his career. The next notable Lexus car in his collection was the gray LS 460. 

However, the exact model year and custom specs could not be confirmed. Just like a few of his other Lexus cars, Mel was spotted pumping gas in this one too. It seems Gibson is too range-conscious and is therefore frequently spotted filling his few other cars too. A few other celebs like George Clooney and A$AP Rocky also own the Lexus LS 460 in their car collections. 

6. 2008 Maserati Quattroporte

The 2008 Maserati Quattroporte is one of the all-time favorite cars of Mel Gibson. He was spotted cruising around the town in this black beauty a few times. However, not everything was rosy with this car. Mel Gibson was caught in an accident while driving this car on the Malibu Canyon Road in 2010.

Fortunately, he did not sustain any injuries, but the car was damaged in the front fender and front wheel, leading to $20,000 in repairs. The California Highway Patrol confirmed that Gibson was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol while driving.

5. 1992 Porsche 968

The iconic Porsche 968 is one of the limited-edition cars in Gibson’s garage. Some of his fans assume that this car was seen in the background shot of his movie Braveheart. 

However, it was not the same car but a different car that appeared in the said shot. Yeah, as you might have thought, he was not spotted driving this one, but as reported, he certainly owns one in his car collection. 

4. 2020 Audi Q7

The 2020 Audi Q7 became a part of Mel’s garage during the pandemic period. He was spotted serving his family duties via his all-black Q7. 

He was seen venturing out in Malibu alongside his younger girlfriend Rosalind Ross and their young son Lars Gibson. The family was packing some groceries in the boot of this car after a trip to Whole Foods. The Audi Q7 is also a prominent part of Jennifer Lawrence and Ed Sheeran's car collections. 

3. Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE

Officially, Range Rover cars have been a staple for chauffeuring high-profile celebs in Hollywood. Some notable personalities, like Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, also own Range Rover cars. 

Well, Mel Gibson is no different and was spotted leaving his progress report hearing at the Malibu courthouse in relation to his no-contest plea to a misdemeanor in a drunken driving case in a white Range Rover Sport HSE.

2. 2001 BMW 3-Series Cabriolet

The 2001 BMW 3-Series Convertible has been a visual treat for Mel Gibson's fans. However, talking about this red car was never the focus of fans and the media alike; rather, his bulked-up physique at the age of 57 in 2013 garnered more eyeballs. His tank top and shorts led to a full display of his chiseled body. However, this was the only time he was spotted with this car.

1. Mercedes-Benz ML 63

The Mercedes-Benz SL 63 is one of the notable SUVs in Gibson’s enchanting garage. However, he was not driving it himself and was spotted getting out of his sleek black SUV for the premiere of The Expendables 3. He was accompanied by Thomas Canestraro for the event.

Besides some of the fantastic cars in his car collection, Mel owned a famous vintage truck as well. What's so special, you may ask? Mel's truck was seen alongside him in the movie "Lethal Weapon". 

Mel's character (Martin Riggs) and his partner David Glover did some fantastic scenes with this truck in the movie. Mel decided to pass this vintage truck with some memorable history to his son, Milo Gibson, as it holds sentimental value for him.

• BMW 7-Series

The ultimate flagship sedan from BMW is also a part of Mel Gibson’s car collection. Although not every car a celeb owns is driven by them frequently, the same seems to be the case with the 7-Series. 

The exact generation or specification of the car owned by Mel remains under wraps, but as reported by several media outlets, he owns one in his car collection.
