In an interview, Andretti revealed his special connection with this Lamborghini, saying, “If I am ever feeling down, I go down there and start this car. I love the first rumble of the engine: Vroom!" To complement the symphony of its roaring V12, he adds a touch of Italian perfection—“I have a CD of Pavarotti, and I put that on.”

1948 Hudson Hornet 

Mario Andretti’s Hudson Hornet is undoubtedly one of the most special cars in his collection. His legacy began with a 1948 Hudson Hornet, a car he painstakingly rebuilt in 1959, hoping it would become his first race car. That very machine was his first love—and who could disagree?

Though reports suggest it was later sold at auction, its legacy lives on. For the love of racing, the same car was added to Gran Turismo 6, giving fans the thrilling opportunity to drive a piece of Andretti’s history—virtually.

2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air 

When Alvise Andretti was looking to trade in his Ford, his twin sons, Mario and Aldo, persuaded him to go for a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. However, the classic Chevy didn’t quite match their father’s taste, so he chose a 1951 Buick instead. Just for your info, Jay Leno has both the Chevy and Buick models in his collection. 

This unexpected decision turned out to be a lucky break for the brothers, as the stylish red and white Bel Air—adorned with its signature gold V—ended up in their hands. For Mario, it became more than just a car; it was the first spark in his lifelong passion for automobiles. It's highly unlikely he still owns it. 

Lamborghini Aventador 

Yes, Mr. Andretti once owned a stunning 2014 Lamborghini Aventador—an orange head-turner that had only clocked 6,000 miles when it hit the market. However, in true speed-lover fashion, he upgraded to the more powerful Aventador S in 2018.

Alfa Romeo GTV-6

Unlike many of his race-winning machines, this one came straight from the dealership—practically brand new—with only 175 miles on the odometer.
