James Edward Franco is a prominent actor and filmmaker from Palo Alto, California. Born on April 19, 1978, the 44-year-old actor started his career back in 1997 with his first role as a paid actor on a Pizza Hut commercial. He got his big break following his lead role on NBC’s popular show Freaks and Geeks, which later became a cult classic. Franco became a global icon with his role in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man Trilogy featuring Toby Maguire as Spider-Man. After that, the actor starred in several films including the famous biographical film 127 Hours, The Disaster Artist, This Is The End, and Pineapple Express. In between, Franco also tried to take a different path since he was dissatisfied with his acting career’s growth and took admitted to the University of California with an English major. Later, the actor returned to the big screen and went on to build a sizable net worth of around $30 million. Unlike other popular celebrities, Franco has a small number of cars but a tasteful one.

3. BMW i3

The BMW i3 is the smallest electric vehicle from Beemer’s i series. However, the car still scores big in terms of design and performance. While its sports car sibling, the i8, garnered better popularity, the i3 was overshadowed due to its steep pricing.

Despite that, the appealing color options and the futuristic design allowed it to find a decent number of takers. James Franco added one example of the i3 to his garage in a bright orange shade and spent around $44,450.

Top Speed93 mph

The i3 is powered by a single electric motor that drives the rear wheels of the car through a single-speed direct-drive automatic transmission. The powertrain puts out a mediocre 168 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. The acceleration is linear, with the 0-60 mph sprint coming up in 6.6 seconds. The top speed of the car is limited to 93 mph.

2. Maserati Ghibli

The Maserati Ghibli is one of the best Italian sports sedans out there, even though it lacks to quite some extent in the practicality aspect.

Maserati Ghibli

Right from its sharp and aggressive exterior design to its sharp handling, the Ghibli is a rare sight on the roads, but a brilliant car itself. Moreover, despite having a V6, the Ghibli gets its exhaust notes right, and you’ll enjoy revving the motor to its redline often. Franco, a man of fine taste, has the Ghibli in his garage and spent around $71,600 to get his hands on the car.

Powertrain3.0-liter twin-turbo V6
Horsepower345 hp

Top Speed175 mph

The Maserati Ghibli gets powered by a standard 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine along with getting a slick 8-speed shiftable automatic transmission. The motor delivers a strong 345 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque that results in a 0-60 mph sprint time of 4.8 seconds. The sedan can touch a top speed of 174 mph, an uncommon find in this time of electronically limited top speeds.

1. Audi R8

The Audi R8 has been a practical sports car ever since its launch and it got its status upgraded after getting the famous V10 motor. With the V10 under its hood, the R8 V10 is often considered an affordable Huracan with practically the same engine but in a different state of tune.

On the inside, the R8 offers almost everything you’d require in a luxury car for yourself but lacks in the advanced safety features area. James Franco added the R8 V10 in his garage after spending an expected price of $129,400.

Powertrain5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10
Horsepower430 hp

Top Speed201 mph

The V10 under the R8’s rear hood delivers a solid 430 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque. The fun lies in the 6-speed manual gearbox which can offer an absolute blasting experience with that much power and torque on tap from a V10. The car shoots to 60 mph from a standstill in under 3.9 seconds and the top speed is rated at 201 mph.
