Barbra Streisand, the legendary singer and actress, may be a powerhouse on stage, but behind the wheel, it’s a different story. She hilariously admitted on Carpool Karaoke with James Corden that she failed her driving test three times!

While she’s owned an impressive fleet of luxury and classic cars—including a vintage Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost and a sleek Porsche 911 Targa 4S—it’s unlikely she still takes them for a spin due to her age. In fact, most of her iconic rides have been sold, making her once-glamorous collection a thing of Hollywood history.

Barbra Streisand’s Porsche 911 Targa 4S is a true gem in her collection, flaunting a sleek Nero Black finish that turns heads from every angle. Her taste in cars is as refined as her talent! She and her husband, James Brolin, were spotted cruising in the stylish ride while greeting their granddaughter, Westlyn, in 2021.

A photo shared on Instagram hints that this stunning Targa is a 2020 model, proving that even offstage, Barbra knows how to make a statement—this time, on four wheels without affecting her family bond.

  • 1959 Bentley S2

Barbra Streisand’s love for luxury cars began with this 1959 Bentley S2, which she purchased second-hand in 1964 at just 22 years old. A brand-new Bentley was an extravagant purchase, even for rising stars, so this pre-owned beauty was a fitting choice. Though she no longer owns it, this elegant ride marked her early appreciation for classic automobiles.

  • 1926 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Berwick

How could a Rolls-Royce not grace the garage of a legend like Barbra Streisand, especially when music moguls like Jay-Z, Justin Bieber, and Travis Scott have all indulged in the luxury? Barbra owned a 1926 Silver Ghost Berwick, which was finished in a sleek silver exterior with a bold red vinyl interior.

She acquired the car at Christie’s Bud Cohen auction in Los Angeles in February 1979. At the time, the Rolls-Royce had only 49,000 miles and had been owned by just three individuals since new.

Historical research conducted by Christie’s revealed that the Berwick Sedan had undergone modifications earlier in its life. The roofline had been lowered by a few inches, the peak was removed, and the top was finished in vinyl, likely a modernization done in the 1950s or early 1960s. Additionally, in the late 1970s, Hill & Vaughn performed a partial restoration, refinishing the silver body paint and polishing the aluminum hood.

For 15 years, Streisand kept the Rolls-Royce at her California home, using it sparingly before parting ways with it in March 1994. Christie’s once again facilitated its sale, this time in New York, as part of an auction that included contents from one of her homes.

The car changed hands once more in 2001, when Christie’s sold it at the Exceptional Motor Cars at the Lyndhurst Property, Tarrytown auction for $88,125. Notably, despite the passage of decades, the Rolls-Royce had only accumulated around 300 miles since Streisand’s initial purchase in 1979, with its odometer today reading just 49,316 miles—a testament to its preservation.

  • 1976 Mercedes-Benz 450SL

Good Lord, the German giant finally makes an entrance! Barbra Streisand’s 1976 Mercedes-Benz 450SL was a sleek soft-top, proving her love for open-air cruising. She was even spotted slipping into this pristine beauty, which she purchased brand-new in 1976.

It remained in her collection for an impressive 23 years before she eventually parted ways with it in 1999—just like many of her iconic rides. Though no longer in her possession, this classic Benz was yet another symbol of her timeless elegance and impeccable taste in automobiles.

  • 1957 Ford Thunderbird

Barbra Streisand’s 1957 Ford Thunderbird

The 1957 Ford Thunderbird is among the most iconic American classics, and Barbra Streisand once had the privilege of owning one. This particular T-Bird, bearing the serial number D7FH343199, originally rolled off Ford’s River Rouge factory in July 1957 before making its way into the legendary singer’s garage.

After her ownership, the car spent time in Arizona before being relocated to Delaware, where it underwent a comprehensive refurbishment. Finished in Colonial White with a white convertible soft top, the Thunderbird exudes vintage elegance. Inside, the cabin was re-trimmed in red vinyl under previous ownership, preserving its striking contrast.

Mechanically, the 312ci V8 engine was rebuilt in 2014, as per the selling dealer, and a new aluminum radiator with an electric puller fan was installed for improved cooling. The transmission was also rebuilt in 2015, ensuring smooth performance.

In May 2023, the car was sold on Bring a Trailer with 91,000 miles on the odometer for $41,000. A notable highlight of the sale was the 1972 California Ownership Certificate, which officially listed Barbra Streisand as a previous owner, adding a unique provenance to this beautifully maintained classic.
