Zayn Malik

Zayn Malik is one of the most promising young singers in today’s music industry and has earned a total of 9 Platinum certifications in the US. The 2016 AMA “New Artist of the Year” award winner rose to prominence initially because of his time in the infamous boy band, “One Direction” with Harry Styles, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan. 

His 4 years in “One Direction” resulted in stunners like “What Makes You Beautiful”, “Perfect”, “Drag Me Down”, etc. However, Zayn’s pursuit of his solo career brought way more fame and fortune which was boosted by his “One Direction” resume. • Zayn grew up in a working-class family in East Bowling, Bradford.
• He was attracted to music while listening to his father’s urban music records, mainly R&B and hip-hop.

In a recent interview with “Fearne Cotton's Happy Place”, Malik responded on his experience of being a father and how his parents are to him after Zayn became a father. “I think this has to do with the fact that she wants to be around Khai. It’s nice to see her with my daughter…” 

• Born on 12 January 1993 in Bradford, West Yorkshire, to an immigrant Pakistani Muslim father, Yaser Malik, and a White British mother of English and Irish descent, Trisha Malik, who worked as a halal chef for a local primary school.
• He is the only boy in the family after his elder sister Doniya and two younger ones Waliyha and Safaa. 
• His mother persuaded and coaxed Zayn to go to the audition for “The X Factor” in Manchester. 
• Malik bought his parents a new house after getting famous and told his mother to quit her job. “Zayn said, 'You don't have to do this anymore. Instead, he puts my wage into my bank…” - Trisha Malik in an interview with BBC. 
• Zayn and Perrie Edwards announced their teenage romance on “X” back in 2012. 
• However, just weeks after signing with RCA Records, Zayn called off his engagement with Perrie.
• At the end of 2015, famous model Gigi Hadid and the “Bradford Bad Boy” revealed their relationship.
• In September 2020, Zayn and Gigi welcomed their baby girl Khai.
• In October 2021, the former “One Direction” star was accused of assaulting Gigi’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, and the pair broke up after this issue.
