Here Is A Look At English Guitarist Jeff Beck's Car Collection

Jeff Beck, a legendary guitarist whose career skyrocketed in the 1960s with the Yardbirds and later the Jeff Beck Group, is just as passionate about cars as he is about music. Known for his groundbreaking albums like Blow by Blow and Wired, Beck’s innovative approach to rock and blues earned him two inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. 

His collection includes some of the most iconic vehicles, such as the 1932 Ford Deuce Roadster, Ford Deuce Coupe, and Three-Window Coupe. With a passion ignited in 1953, Beck has hand-built over 30 cars, including 14 hot rods and three Corvettes. Whether tuning engines or strumming solos, Beck’s skill and attention to detail leave a lasting impression.

7. 1947 MG TC

Beck's 1947 MG TC is a rare find as it's a pre-war car that was produced between 1945 and 1949. He has been spotted cruising in the MG TC at various events, from car shows to charity runs, with the car often featured in photos and videos, showcasing its beautifully restored condition.

As a boy, Geoffrey Beck spent weekends with his car-enthusiast uncle, who had a small workshop in the back room of his flat. The pair would take the open-top MG for drives, with Beck recalling, “I just thought it was the coolest thing. I used to open it up on some roads and get it to 75 mph.”

6. 1932 Ford Deuce Coupe

Like hot rodders everywhere, Beck was deeply inspired by George Lucas’ 1973 film American Graffiti. He was so captivated by the movie’s iconic yellow Deuce Coupe that he attempted to purchase it from Lucas. Initially, the car struggled to find a buyer at $1,200, but as the film gained legendary status, its value skyrocketed. Beck put in an offer of $4,000 but was ultimately outbid, missing out on owning a piece of cinematic history.

Rather than giving up, he set out to find a similar model, eventually locating a 32 Deuce Coupe with a three-inch chop. “It wasn’t quite right. It was the most idiotic thing to do.” As a tribute, he recreated the car’s famous THX 138 number plate before acquiring the original 23 years later. He has also made several modifications to the car such as putting a V8 engine and a custom paint job, but still maintains the classic look of the original car.

5. 1932 Ford Model 18 Roadster 

Jeff has owned the 1932 Ford Model18 Roadster for several years. The car is a classic example of the Ford Model 18, which was produced between 1932 and 1933. However, not all of Beck's cars stayed in his expansive garage. This particular car was shipped to the U.S. for Ray Brizio to repair after a minor accident involving a hairpin bend. Beck had been partying with Eric Clapton, left his house early one morning, and barely traveled a mile before reaching the sharp bend. “This was most unexpected,” Beck wryly remarked.

Both car and driver veered off the road at high speed, and Beck found himself walking with blood "just pouring out of me." He was patched up by a local woman who had heard the crash, but the car needed further attention. Brizio offered to fix it for a fee, and the car has stayed in the U.S. ever since. “It’s a really famous car now because it’s got Von Dutch striping on it and everything,” said Beck. The bend is now affectionately called Beck’s Bend.

4. 1932 Ford Five-window Coupe

Jeff Beck's 1932 Five-Window Coupe is a classic hot rod car that is as iconic as the musician himself. Built in the early 1980s with the help of close friends, the car was designed to reflect the golden era of hot rods from the 1930s and 1940s. The car has been featured in several magazines and has even made appearances in music videos and on tour with Beck.

Beck’s approach to acquiring parts was as unconventional as his music. While he often sourced components from dealers, magazines, and swap meets, the way he secured the body for his Five-window Coupe was particularly unique. During an LA Roadster swap meet, he was approached by a man wanting to feature his girlfriend in a calendar. Beck jokingly countered with an offer for a ’32 five-window body, only to be surprised when the man actually had one.

3. 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

Jeff Beck purchased the 1963 Corvette Stingray in the early days of his career when he was still a member of "The Yardbirds". Driving it around London, Beck flaunted the sleek black exterior with the iconic Stingray logo, solidifying the car's place in rock history. Beck, whose first automotive love was hot rods, always had a lingering admiration for Corvettes, and his success gave him the chance to indulge in his dream car.

“With my first sum of money, I went straight out and bought a ’63 split-window small block Corvette." His admiration for the car began long before, as he gazed at a poster of the '63 Corvette, thinking, “That’s the most beautiful car I’ve ever seen.” Two years later, he made it his own. When the car broke down, Beck refused to trust anyone else with it and took it upon himself to learn the intricate mechanics of the Stingray. 

2. 1932 Ford Three-window Coupe

The 1932 three-window coupé holds a special place in Beck’s impressive collection of hot rods and Corvettes. He discovered the car through a brief classified ad in a recycling paper. “I said, ‘Yeah right,’ because they don’t exist, especially in this country,” Beck recalled. However, the coupe was real, though acquiring it was no easy feat. The negotiations were intense, culminating in a moment where Beck, determined not to lose the rare find, put the seller in a headlock.

Despite the rocky transaction, he successfully purchased the car and decided it deserved the best restoration possible. To achieve this, he shipped the coupe to California, entrusting it to the legendary street rod builder Roy Brizio. Now, the beautifully restored vehicle stands as a testament to Beck’s dedication to the world of hot rods, a journey that began with a single magazine and an insatiable curiosity for engines.

In 2007, Jeff Beck added a Chevrolet Corvette to his impressive car collection, marking one of the few new-age cars he’s owned. The Corvette quickly became a standout in his garage, joining a long history of Beck’s affection for the iconic model.
