Gerard Lopez right from his teen years was fascinated by cars and was never really an academically brilliant student. At the age of 21, he wanted to own a Porsche 911 and found out that it was too expensive for him to even lease, forget about buying. So he went on to set up a car leasing company and later on a slew of successful ventures followed by an investment firm. All of which to help him realize his ultimate goal of buying some of the most noteworthy and fun cars ever made. So without further ado let’s have a look at his car collection.

The 1999 Lamborghini Diablo in Gerard Lopez’s collection was the company’s replacement for the iconic Countach mid-engine sports car. The Diablo was made when the company was under the ownership of the Chrysler group. This explains coming from wedge-shaped Countach how the Diablo has softer curves. The Diablo was on sale from 1990 to 2001 and Gerard’s 1999 Diablo is one of 900 models made owing to that it has an estimated worth of $291,400.

The 2016 Ferrari FF is the one in which Gerard Lopez picked the journalist whom he gave a tour of his garage. Because before this private tour no one really had the chance to see his garage with the guy himself explaining every detail about his choice of wheels. Coming to the car it is a four-seater grand tourer which by Ferrari standards offers a generous amount of legroom at the rear. Coming to its price, we don’t know the exact value of his car but the 2016 Ferrari FF when new was priced at $300,000.

Gerard Lopez 1984 Lamborghini Countach QV

The 1984 Lamborghini Countach QV was the successor of Lamborghini Miura and its design and development was overseen by Ferruccio Lamborghini himself. A fun fact about Countach is that contrary to Lamborghini’s naming tradition it was not named after any famous bull instead it has been taken from the word contacc which means astonishment. Coming to the car itself, the one sitting in Gerard’s garage is estimated to be worth $311,700, and with a modern version of the same being made these old ones are shooting up in value by the day.

2. 2005 Porsche Carrera GT

Gerard Lopez 2005 Porsche Carrera GT

The 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, the infamous car in which late actor Paul Walker died while riding shotgun has been infamously referred as widow-maker. The car which was very close to a track car in terms of driving dynamics wasn’t an easy drive for a regular driver. Even Gerard accepts that and explains that for those driving normal cars the Carrera GT can be a handful but if you are used to driving track cars and race cars you would be more than comfortable in it. So Gerard wasted no time picking this unique Porsche which is now estimated to be worth more than $440,000.

The 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren worth $497,750 is the most expensive car in Gerard Lopez’s collection. With only 2,157 cars ever built, the car was a result of a rare marriage between German and British engineering. The car came with a lot of advanced features and mechanics which were limited to Formula 1 and racing cars only. As a result, it was not only great to drive but also one of the most sought Mercedes-Benz cars in the used market these days.
